MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR INCLUSION IN THE LISTS OF
APPROVED CONTRACTORS
CATEGORY 2: PIPELINES AND ASSOCIATED WORKS
SECTION A: PIPELINES EXCEEDING 12 DIAMETER, MAJOR
MANIFOLD CONSTRUCTION AND ASSOCIATED
WORKS.
1. INTRODUCTION
In order to be considered for inclusion in the List of Approved Contractors for
the above type of works the Contractor shall meet the following minimum
requirements. Failure to meet any of these requirements shall be cause for
rejection of the contractors application for inclusion on the above Category.

2. PRIOR EXPERIENCE
The Contractor must be experienced in the scheduling, organizing and
regularly carrying out all the operations involved in, and associated with
pipelines and pipelining, in sizes exceeding 12 in diameter used for the
transmission of crude oil, liquid petroleum products, gases, water etc., and in
the construction of major manifolds and associated engineering works such as
are to be fond in oil fields and oil and gas production environments. The
Contractor shall provide evidence that he has carried out at least two pipeline
projects in the oil field or in a petrochemical environment during the last ten
years similar in all aspects to the following: 2.1

Laying of pipelines exceeding 12 in diameter used for the


transmission of crude oil, liquid petroleum products, gases and
water, including survey work, trenching, stringing, welding and
laying.
Construction of major manifolds in oil fields and oil and gas
production environment.
Fabrication, welding and installation of associated pipework.
Reinforce cement concrete foundation, anchors, etc

Associated surface preparation, painting, coating and wrapping.

2.6 Pigging, testing and commissioning of foregoing installation.

3. PROFESSIONAL AND TECHNICAL STAFF


The contractor must have in his employ and on his sponsorship a minimum
number of personnel as shown below and must provide details of their
qualifications and experience. They must be well conversant with appropriate
pipeline codes and standards and Fire and Safety Regulations in the oil fields.
They will be called for interview and trade test as appropriate.

4. PREMISES AND WORKSHOP FACILITIES


The Contractor must maintain workshop, office premises and
organization appropriate to the type and volume of work for which he
is applying. His office must be staffed and equipped with word
processing, copying, drafting and communication (telephone and fax)
equipment. His workshop and site equipment should include, but not
