CONSTRUCTION METHODOLOGY FOR

YARRENABBE ROAD, DARLING POINT

OVERALL PROJECT
Due to the narrow width and length of Yarrenabbe Road the project will be
broken into 3 stages with each stage broken into 2 parts.
Yarrenabbe Road will be closed to through traffic during construction
hours with a clearly signposted detour in place. A warning sign will be
placed on New Beach Road to warn motorists of the changes to traffic
conditions. The sign will include effected times and duration. Resident
traffic will be allowed.
Parking will be restricted opposite the work areas to allow traffic to pass
the work areas. Temporary no stopping signs will be erected during each
stage.
Pedestrian access will be via the opposite footpath by use of the
appropriate signage.
Residents will be kept inform of all stages of work via continuing letterbox
drops.

STAGE 1 PART A
Eastern Side Ch 00 to Ch 125
Traffic and pedestrian controls as per drawing Stage 1 Part A.
The estimated timeframe for this stage is approximately 4 weeks.
The construction method will be as follows;
o Demolish kerb and gutters, footpaths and driveways.
o Backfill driveways for residents to use.
o Construct drainage works.
o Prepare kerb lines.
o Pour kerbs.
o Pour driveways and footpaths.

o Prepare road for resurfacing work.


Resident disruptions to driveways will occur during kerb placement and
driveway pouring and curing. This will be for about 4 days for each
resident.

STAGE 1 PART B
Western Side Ch 00 to Ch 125.
Traffic and pedestrian controls as per drawing Stage 1 Part B.
The estimated timeframe for this stage is approximately 2 weeks.
The construction method for this part of works will be the same as the
previous stage with the inclusion of resurfacing this section of the
roadway.
During resurfacing of the roadway the roadway will be closed to all traffic.

STAGE 2 PART A
Eastern Side Ch 125 to Ch 250.
Traffic and pedestrian controls as per drawing Stage 2 Part A.
The estimated timeframe for this stage is approximately 3 weeks.
The construction method for this part of works will be the same as the
previous stage.

STAGE 2 PART B
Western Side Ch 125 to Ch 250
Traffic and pedestrian controls as per drawing Stage 2 Part B.
The estimated timeframe for this stage is approximately 2 weeks.
The construction method for this part of works will be the same as the
previous stage with the inclusion of resurfacing this section of the
roadway.

During the resurfacing of the roadway it will be closed to all traffic.

STAGE 3 PART A
Eastern Side Ch 250 to Ch 371
Traffic and pedestrian controls as per drawing Stage 3 Part A.
The estimated timeframe for this stage is approximately 3 weeks.
The construction method for this part of works will be the same as the
previous stage.

STAGE 3 PART B
Western Side Ch 250 to Ch 371.
Traffic and pedestrian controls as per drawing Stage 3 Part B.
The estimated timeframe for this stage is approximately 2 weeks.
The construction method for this part of works will be the same as the
previous stage with the inclusion of resurfacing this section of the
roadway.
During resurfacing the road will be closed to all traffic.
