General information for construction of canal protection

wall:
This project includes construction of canal protection wall with stone masonry cutoff and net
door from 20mm steel bars according to attached maps.

Brief information of project:

In the beginning of this canal is a net door from U-girder of 100x40x3mm frame and
net from steel bar diameter (20mm) and spicing of 20cm c/c.
Construction joints must be considered after every 12m length of wall that they should
be put from foundation according maps.
For prevent the water loss the construction joints should be full from water proof
materials like bitumen or other materials.
The stone wall should be constructed from mountainous and hard stone.
The construction company can to change the stone masonry wall plastering with wall
pointing, a surface of the wall that isnt touch with water.
The construction works should be completed 100% with this volume of works
schedule and dont pay any cost for intractable extra works more them the offer work
volumes.
All volume of works is with their performance and should be have high quality.
During of the project work must not cut any tree, without governmental approval.
After the technical survey of the project, if the floods change the project damage the
site form and contracted project, maps and design dont match with site of the project
which was served technically before, the contractor company engineer is responsible to

arrange the design and maps according to the site with consultation of ACTED
Engineer and taking of approval of related governmental department.

Site Preparing for foundation lining.

1. After signing of contract the construction company must level the project area.
2. If the project site have extra organic or inorganic material the contractor company is
responsible for its moving for site.
3. If the implementation area of project have trees the contractor company is responsible
for cutting of trees with their roots from foundation site (no mark of cut trees will be in
the site).
4. If this project need for dewatering during of foundation excavation, it is belong to
Contractor Company, and contractor must be consider and add the cost of this activity
to foundation excavation, and Contractor Company responsible to vacate all the
foundation water after leveling of foundation and before pour of the PCC.
Foundations excavation:
1. The excavation should be regular and level.
2. The excavation land soil is type 3.
3. The foundation design for bearing capacity of 1.5 kg/cm2. The foundation soil must be
checked if it is loser from 1.5 kg/cm2 the foundation should be prepared according to
the real soil bearing capacity.
4. The excavation should be check by ACTED Site Engineer and if the excavation works
havent any problems then Contractor Company will be start the foundation PCC work.
Concrete (PCC+RCC) works:

The old cement (more than three months storage cement in store) should not be used.
The Ghori cement product of Afghanistan should be used in all RCC works and other
parts, in case the Ghori cement cannot provide the required concrete mark, the Fuji or
Cherat Pakistani cement should be used.
The concert must make in iron open box not on the soil land.
The crashed gravel should be used for concrete works and its size arranges with
concert thickness and its diameter should not more than 2cm.
The sand should be clean and washed and it must be without from soil and organic
materials.
Clean or portable drinking water will be used for concrete mixing.
PCC of foundation should be made with M: 150(compressive strength 150 Kg/cm2).
PCC on the wall should be made with M: 150(compressive strength 150 Kg/cm2).

11. For separations of the soil layer from concert layer plastic sheet should be use.
12. The shuttering should be checked before concrete pouring. (The shuttering planks

thickness should be at least 2.5cm and two sides of the planks should be smooth and
clean in order to prevent from concrete falling.
13. For providing from concrete bending should be use wooden timber in suitable
distances.
14. The shuttering surface should be in same level.
15. The concert should be use during one hour.

1: 2:4 (cement: sand: gravel)

Stone work with cement and sand mortar:

1. Stone used for foundation will be mountain hard crashed stone (not river rounded
stone).
2. Dont use lime stones for construction works.
3. For all stone masonry works cement and sand mortar must be use.
4. The sand should be washed, clean and without gravel and soil.
5. All around stone works should be filling with cement and sand mortar and no any
empty place exist around the stone.
6. All stone works should be kept wet with water at least for 14 days.
7. Construction joint is necessary for walls.

Plastering:

Plastering mortars are from sand and cement.

The sand should be washed, teeny and completely without soil.
The plastering should be smooth and without wave and cracks.
All corner and walls should be straight and vertical.
The surface of beams that have horizontal view should be regular and level.
All plastering should be kept wet at least for 14 days.

7. Providing Indifference Contractor Company that use dirty sand, dont mix mortar well,

dont keep wet and seems slit or cracks, all less quantity works should be demolish
and they should be worked again.
8. Pointing works should be swell and beauty.

Carpentry works:
1. In the shuttering dont use from wooden boards more than 3 time.
2. The board that use for shuttering should has 2cm thickness and its surface should be

smooth without slit.

3. For providing of bending use wooden columns in suitable distance.
4. The shuttering surface should be level.
5. The shuttering should be checked before steel bending works and concert works by
ACTED site Engineer.

Sundry works:
1. Based on works volume this project should be completed 100% within 6months after the
signing of the contract.
2. For the normal progress of construction works and accurate supervision of the project the
contractor is responsible to employ a civil engineer to be present in the field till completion of
the project.
3. The project work will be implemented according to ACTED engineering department plan in
case of not progressing of the work according to plan the contractor will pay cash penalty
according to contract.
4. The contractor is responsible to provide work safety condition and all the labors should wear
hat, shoe, glasses and labor uniform as well as the labor shirt should be designed by companys
arm.
5. The respectable contractor is responsible to price each construction item in offer form
according to local market without benefit and clarify the benefit at the end of the offer both in
percentage and currency and add it in total price.

its prices in attached table.
