QURAN WITH TAJWEED

Level One
Beginners:
In Tajweed, we will teach students the principles of reciting the Quran with correct articulation,
prolongation, merging, conversion, distinctness, and pauses. We will also teach them the rules of Tajweed
and ask them to practice the rules in three levels:
We will introduce the first level in Grade 1 for beginners with eleven units: (1) Introduction to Tajweed*,
(2) Why do we learn Tajweed? The command to learn Tajweed (3) Benefits of Tajweed (4) Principles of
Tajweed (5) Prostrations of reading (6) Isti'adhah and Basmalah (7) Levels of reciting the Quran (8)
Errors in recitation* (9) Symbols of Stopping (10) The Makhaarij *(11) Characteristics of letters and
introduction to noon saakin and tanween. Beginners will also practice reading from Noorani Qaida by
Sheikh Noor Muhammad Haqqani.
From time to time we will test the oral and writing capabilities of students. Students who have already
memorized parts of the Quran will follow the same plan of study and will learn to identify the rules of
Tajweed from Quranic text and from memory.
Each lesson plan consists of 25 to 26 lessons/ two hours a week.
* The topics will be delivered as per the age group and will be covered within one academic year. The
remaining Levels Two and Three will be covered in the following years.

Intermediate:
Students who commence studying Quran with Tajweed in Grade Two (age group 7-9) would follow the
Intermediate Level.
The program outline would be the same, with the exception that they will not be using the Noorani
Qaida.

Advanced:
Advanced Level students will follow a detailed study of the topics outlined.
Memorization portion:
Beginners: Surah An Nas to Surah Al Ala - Juz Amma (chap # 30) (Optional)
Advanced Level: Juz Amman and Juz Tabaraaq (Compulsory)

Level Two
Intermediate:
Continuing from the previous section, students who complete Level One will move on to Level Two of
this program and carry on from intermediate level.
In this level, we will introduce nine units: (1) Detailed study of the characteristics of letters (2) Rules of
Noon Al Sakinah (3) Rules of Meem Sakinah (4) Tarqeeq and Tafkheem (5) Ranks of Ghunnah (6) Rules
of Laam Al Sakinah (7) The Two Alike, The Two Similar, The Two Close, and The Two Far (8) Al
Qalqalah (9) Al Waqf wal Ibtidah

Advanced:
Advanced level students will be following a detailed study of the topics outlined.
Memorization portion:
Beginners: Juz Amma (Compulsory)
Advanced Level: Juz Qad Samiya and Juz Surah Al Baqarah (Juz 1)

Level Three
Advanced Level (Applicable to all):
In this level, we will introduce six units and memorization of Jazaariya Tajweed poem: (1) Breathless
Stop (2) The Cut off (3) Al Alif Al Sabah (4) Rules of Al Mudood (5) Hamza Al Wasl (6) The accent
Memorization portion:
To be advised in the next academic year.

Format of the class:


Students will be required to memorize a supplication each week in addition to their weekly memorization
portion.
Lessons will be taken by the teacher on a first come first serve basis over a 1.5hrs session once a week.
Students should attend the class as per their geographies, starting from the UAE with the exception of
those who have been granted permission to attend late.
Students should login at least 15 minutes before the end of the class and the administration will have the
right to email/SMS a student to attend the class within the scheduled period.
Students can leave once his/her lesson is given to the teacher.

A Students portion will be limited to half a page per week (7 - 8 lines out of 15 lines). Students will be
required to read his/her previous weeks portion first and then continue with the ongoing weeks portion.
Finally the new lesson will be read with the teacher so that the student can prepare for his/her portion for
the next class. InshaAllah.

Tests & Assessments:


From time to time, we will test the oral and writing capabilities of students. Students who have already
memorized parts of the Quran will follow the same plan of study and will learn to identify the rules of
Tajweed from the Quranic text and from memory.

Note: Students who have already studied Tajweed rules would be placed in their appropriate levels after
a written and oral test.
