toy shelf, chair, bed, sink, etc)

Concept/
School is a place conducting with many things such as; classrooms, teachers and friends.

Learning Objectives
1. The students will learn their own names in print.
2. The students will learn their friends and teachers names and faces
3. The students will realize their role as a student
4. The students will learn that the teacher is a person who teaches them at school
5. The students will learn that they will have friends at school
6. The students will learn different classroom objects and areas
7. The students will Learn about the organization of the classroom

Activities
Literacy: Prepare labels of all the important classroom objects and areas (pre-printed and cut
out). During Activity time the children place the labels on the correct objects and areas of the
classroom. Children will be asked if the label was placed in the correct position
Social studies: people, school, classroom

5. Math concept: Students will be asked to count the labels and number of separate/grouped

Teaching/Learning/
1. The teacher will start with an introduction to the students new class. This can
include the teachers introducing themselves.
2. The teacher can do an activity where the students can introduce themselves.
3. The teacher then gives a little orientation of the class by identifying the important
objects or areas around the classroom with the students.
4. At morning circle the teacher will present the labels (objects in the classroom) and
discuss what the children observe upon the labels (i.e. letters Thai/English)
5. Teacher will provide students with scotch tape and a label (per child) and ask the
student (one by one with guidance from friends) to place the label on the correct
object, position, area, etc
6. The students will discuss whether the label has been placed in/on the correct
object/area.
7. This will be repeated for each child in the class until all labels are utilized
8. The students will discuss the use of the object/area and explore/discuss possible
alternative uses for the labeled object/area.
9. The students will review all the new vocabulary words by playing a find the
object/area game (all children asked to walk/run to said labeled object/area.
Authentic assessment
1. Response to the environment when: S respond to the sound when songs are sung by
adults
2. Print awareness: S recognizes labels on paper,
3. Phonological awareness: S starts to understand the alphabet and sounds from the labels
4. Comprehension: S follows or answers what T. asks
5. Demonstrate increasing ability to form and maintain secure relationship with others
when: S sits and engages the lesson and is able to follow directions about where to place
the label within the classroom.
