MGE Galaxy 3000 2 x 10 Kva UPS System
In line with the BT UPS Metro / Core Node UPS solution, we have pleasure in submitting our offer for the UPS
systems and associated work detailed in accordance with the BT contract number 658480. Based on the power
requirement details we have allowed for 2 x 10Kva UPS units operating in an N+N redundant system. Our offer
includes for an I/O Panel with castell interlock. Integral to the I/O panel are 2 x 4Way TP&N PDU fitted with 12 x
16 Amp MCBs all wired to terminals at the top of the of the panel at 32 Amps. The assumption is that the
maximum system load will be 8Kw (0.8Pf.). We have included for a 8Kw battery with each UPS having a battery
autonomy of 30Mins , 10 year design life to BS6290 Pt4. Our proposal includes for the following:

OTHER USEFUL INFORMATION

All tile cutting and replacing is to be by others. Any plinths supplied will have adjustable feet
Please allow 550mm at the rear of the UPS
UPS are all bottom entry
The I/O Panel requires 2 x 63 three phase and neutral supplies.
I/O Panel has both top and bottom connection.
I/O Panel does not require rear access.
Max heat load from both UPSs running at max load will be no greater that 2KW.
Battery cabinet floor loading is approx 7.9Kn/m^2. UPS and I/O panel have reduced floor load figures compared to the
battery cabinet.
Lead time is currently 3-4 weeks from receipt of order
Installation time on site will be approx 1 week (depending on site conditions). A further 3 days once AC supply if
connected to the UPSs must be allowed for battery recharge. At the end of this period final commissioning including load
bank testing will be completed. This will take 1 day.

Proposal to comprise the following:-

General Description
The project requirement based on the load requirement details is for, 2 (two) three phase input / three phase
output UPS system rated at 10kVA for 30 minutes. MGE will offer its well proven Galaxy 3000 range, rated at
20kVA (power factor 0.8 lagging). The Galaxy PW UPS modules are designed for either unitary operation or can
be connected in parallel with another module to provide a fully redundant (N+N) parallel UPS system. This UPS is
a double conversion true on-line UPS as set out in IEC 62040-3 and EN 50091-3 standard for UPS topology.
All commissioning and testing of the UPS installation has been costed based on standard BT Commissioning
including load bank hire, attendance is to be during normal working hours.

Set of steel plinths for 2 X UPS, 2 x Battery Cabinets, 1 X I/O Panel . Plinths to be 500mm to the top of the tile with
a tile locator designed for a 40mm tile. The plinths will be complete with adjustable feet. Please note that the tile
locator should not be used as a load support. Floor depth and tile thickness are to be confirmed before ordering,
all tile cutting and installation is to be by others.

AC cable installation

MGE will install AC cable between the UPS and I/O panel, this is based on the cable run being under the raised
floor with a max cable length of 5m. This includes for suitable containment if required. MGE has not included for
the supplies to the I/O panel from the main LV panel or for any distribution supplies from the I/O panel to the
equipment racks.

DC Power cabling and control cabling

MGE will install all DC power cabling and control cabling between the battery system, battery isolators and the
battery circuit breaker to the UPS system, assuming a maximum of a 5 metre cable run

Offloading and positioning on the above equipment is assuming one visit to site with easy access without
obstruction, on a normal working weekday during normal working hours.

Commissioning / start-up services

MGE will provide commissioning by our own fully trained engineers when the system is fully installed and
ready to work. Price is based on specification as set out in the BT Planning and Maintenance Guidance
For UPS Systems document PWR/ACS/D010.
The commissioning includes the following works:

Provision of method statement

Load bank testing
Visual checks
Cable installation checks
Setting and programming of the UPS system (off load)
Operational checks
Where available the load will be transferred onto the UPS

The fixed price will include the cost of travel and expenses for a standard commissioning on a normal working day
during normal working hours. Outside these hours costs will be chargeable at our current rate

MGE will provide the following site services in connection with the supply, delivery, installation and testing
of the UPS system.

Annual battery maintenance visit during including impedance or AC Load bank test- to be carried out
during normal working hours

Access to 24 helpline managed by senior engineers / managers

On site training for up to a maximum of 6 BT personnel to a first line standard on the installed equipment. All
training will be carried out by a fully qualified MGE Engineer. Certification will be issued to the attendees on
completion of the course.

Terms and Conditions

Offer is made in line with the agreed Terms and Conditions between MGE UPS Systems and BT as set out in
Term Contract 658480.
Price Structure
The prices quoted are nett :

Exclude all VAT and taxes.

Include delivery, off-loading and positioning as detailed
Excludes all cabling unless specified within our quotation
Excludes all switchgear except for battery circuit breakers (BCBs) unless stated above.
BT Alarm connection and testing is to be by others

All prices are quoted in Pounds Sterling (GBP) and remain valid for 30 days from date of quotation.
Payment Terms:
All prices to be quoted are nett/nett. Payment for 100% of the invoiced value will be required within 42 days of
date of invoice (Standard BT Terms) . No retention will be acceptable on the purchase of these goods and services
Despatch (Ex-works)
Our despatch time for this equipment is currently: 3-4 working weeks from order being received. A firm delivery
date will be confirmed on acceptance of order.
Defects liability
The product defects liability will be as per the agreed BT 5 Year warranty from date of installation subject to a
warranty / maintenance agreement being taken at time of order. This warranty may be void should the
maintenance regime not be adhered to.
Validity
Unless withdrawn previously this quotation is open for acceptance within 30 days form today's date.
Scope of Works
This quotation is based on supply of goods and cabling as specified. Any additional works or costs arising due to
delays on site that are not the result of MGE will be chargeable as appropriate.
