HISTORY/BACKGROUND

Biliran Is a province in the Philippines located in the Eastern Visayas region.

An island province, Biliran lies just a few kilometres north of Leyte Island. Its capital
is Naval. Biliran is one of the countrys smallest and newest provinces, being
formerly a part (sub-province) of Leyte until achieving full-fledged provincehood in
1992.
Nowadays, this island province has growing populace and technology
fanatics. In fact, almost all offices and some of the private companies and
individuals of the said province use computer systems to help them in their daily
undertakings.
And because of these reasons, BilBytez Computer Center was realized. It is a project
intended to provide quality and affordable computer systems with competent,
knowledgeable, and God-fearing staff.
BilBytes stands for Biliran Bytez which is situaded at Naval, the capital town
of Biliran Province. Byte is a computer terminology which means a unit of digital
information that most commonly consists of eight bits. Historically, a byte was the
number of bits used to encode a single character of text in a computer and for this
reason it is the basic addressable element in many computer architectures. Byte is
the building block of information, therefore, we foreseen that BilBytez Computer
Center will be the primary reseller of computer system in the province of Biliran.
The main focus of the company is computer sales, but it encompass
everything about computer technology, especially encoding and printing, souvenir
program layout, tarpaulin layout, picture scanning, risograph printing, computer
repair and maintenance, networking, and many more.
Offers minimal charges with quality in all services offered. BilBytez Computer
Center is located at Abad St., Brgy. Santissimo Rosario, Naval, Biliran, with contact
number (053)500-9251.

PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT BROUGHT DURING PRACTICUM

On-the-Job Training is one of the reasons why I am grateful of being one of

the graduating students of Naval State University. It gives me an opportunity to be
part of this fast growing economy and a stepping stone to gain insights towards the
complex world of business especially in our field as Computer Engineers in the near
future.
Having an On-the-Job Training in the BilBytez Computer Center provided me
ideas and knowledge regarding to computer-related works mainly in computer
servicing, maintenance and repair. It helps me to overcome all my weakness thus
molded me to be matured enough to decide in every situation I am with. Time
bounded is the most important thing I have learned during the intern. I need to
change everything I usually do since I need to be efficient in my training specially to
report early at work.
Being responsible in every task assigned and being dedicated with it is one
thing that Engr. Jay Fiel, our supervisor always emphasizes. These thoughts will
always remain in me as when I will be working with the real world performing my
profession.

CAREER PLAN

Rendering our On-the-Job Training was a great opportunity as our mentors

emphasize, since during their time they also experience such training. We were
blessed enough to have it because it provides us a preparation after we graduate
from individual courses we have.
I believe that the said training have provided me enough experience to be
ready to involve with fast progress of the economy. It helped me give visions to
where I will go after I graduate. I am much looking forward to gain different
experiences and knowledge with the profession I have with the familiarization of
different parts of computers and exposing myself to it where I can also exercise my
knowledge within me and thus would help me to complete myself and to be
competent.
