1. Description
This alarm is reported when communications between the DHEU and the TMU are abnormal.
The alarm severity is major.

actual configuration.

Alarm Impact
1. Impact on System
This alarm indicates that communication is unavailable between the main controlling module
and the RF front module. As all the alarms of the RF front module are reported through the
main controlling module, this alarm cannot be monitored in the BSC.
If there is not other problem with the RF front module, the basic services can go on.
2. System Self-processing

1. Possible Causes
1) The corresponding RF module is not installed.
2) The communication interface board in the RF front module is faulty.
2. Handling Suggestions
1) Check if the RF module has been installed and powered on.
Check if the RF module has been installed and powered on.
Y=> Go to Step 2).
N=> The RF module has not been installed or powered on. Install it and connect the cables.
Then go to Step 3).
2) Check the cables between the RF front module and the main controlling module.
Plug out the serial port cable of the RF front module and see if the terminal and the terminal
cable are normal.
Y=> Plug in the serial port cable of the RF front module and go to Step 3).
N=> Adjust the terminal and the terminal cable. Then go to Step 3).
3) Check whether the alarm is cleared.
Connect the cables of the RF front module properly and power it on. Check whether the alarm
is cleared.
Y=> The alarm is cleared. Alarm handling is completed.
N=> The alarm is not cleared. Please contact Huawei Customer Service Center.

When the communication between the PSU and the PMU is interrupted, the PMU cannot
monitor the PSU, and the PSU related alarms cannot be reported to the PMU.

1) The communication between the PSU and the PMU is interrupted. Any fault of the devices
on the communication link will lead to this alarm.
2) The power supply has not been installed.

2. Handling Suggestions
1) Check whether the PSU has been installed
If this alarm occurs to all of the PSUs installed, go to Step 3); if otherwise, check whether the
PSU has been installed.
Y=>Go to Step 2).
N=>Install the PSU. View whether the alarm is cleared.
2) Check whether the PSU is faulty.
Y=>Replace the PSU if faulty.
N=>Go to Step 3).
3) Check whether the PMU is faulty.
Replace the PMU if faulty. View whether the alarm is cleared.
Y=> The alarm handling ends.
N=> Go to Step 4).
4) Check whether the backplane of the power supply is faulty.
Replace the backplane of the power supply. View whether the alarm is cleared.
Y=> The alarm handling ends.
N=> Huawei Customer Service Center to replace the backplane of the power supply .

If the standing wave ratio of the jumper of the DUP Unit antenna port is abnormal,
you can confirm that the DUP Unit but not the jumper is faulty.
Reset the TRX to restart the services.

1. Description
The DUP Unit reports a voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) alarm when detecting that the
VSWR on antenna port A or antennal port B is greater than Standing Wave Radio Alarm
Threshold (default value: 2.0) but smaller than Serious Standing Wave Radio Alarm
Threshold (default Value: 3.0).

Alarm Handling
1. Possible Causes
1) The connections of the antenna feeder transmit channel are faulty.
2) The DUP Unit hardware is faulty.
2. Handling Suggestions
1) Reset the DUP Unit
Reset the DUP Unit on the LMT and check if the alarm is cleared.
Y=> The alarm is cleared. Alarm handling is completed.
N=> Go to Step 2).
2) Check the connections between the antenna port of the DUP Unit and the antenna.
Check the connections of the jumper of the DUP Unit antenna port, the lightening arrester,
feeder, tower mounted amplifier and the antenna. Check and fasten the connector between the
antenna port and the antenna and see whether the alarm is cleared.
Y=> The alarm is cleared. Alarm handling is completed.
N=> Go to Step 3).
3) Test the standing wave ratio of the Antenna Feeder System.
Test the standing wave ratio of the jumper of the DUP Unit antenna port, the lightening
arrester, feeder, tower mounted amplifier and the antenna. If there is wrong, replace the faulty
component.
Y=> The alarm is cleared. Alarm handling is completed.
N=> Go to Step 4).
& Note
If the standing wave ratio of the jumper of the DUP Unit antenna port is abnormal, you can
confirm that the DUP Unit but not the jumper is faulty.
4) Replace the DUP Unit
Y=> The alarm is cleared. Alarm handling is completed.

Alarm Handling
1. Probable Causes
This alarm is generated when the APM detects that the battery temperature is higher than the
set upper limit.
2. Recommendation
1) Check the battery temperature alarm threshold.
Modify the battery temperature alarm threshold and see if the alarm is cleared.
Check and mend the heat exchanger if necessary. Ensure that it works normally. See if
the alarm is cleared.

2. Handling Suggestions
1) Judge the causes according to other alarm information.
a) Check if the corresponding analog input signals to see if they exceed the thresholds.
Y=> Go to alarm handling of corresponding analog input signals.
N=> Go to Step b.
b) Check the sensor. Replace the faulty one. Check if the alarm is cleared.
Y=> The alarm is cleared.
N=> The alarm is not cleared. Go to Step c.
c) Make sure that the distribution cables of the DEMU front panel are properly connected.
Check if the alarm is cleared.
Y=> The alarm is cleared.
N=> The alarm is not cleared Go to Step d.
d) Make sure that the lightening protection board is normal. Check if the alarm is cleared.
Y=> The alarm is cleared.
N=> The alarm is not cleared. Go to Step e.
e) Check whether the environment monitoring module is faulty.
Y=> Replace the environment monitoring module.
N=> Please contact Huawei Customer Service Center.
