RESEARCH SUMMARY
- A novel method to solve the dynamic coupled control problem of mobiles activation and
data transmission (forwarding). Derivation of the joint optimal dynamic policy that
maximizes the packet delivery rate under the limited energy budget using Pontryagin
maximum principle. Game theoretic analysis and design of distributed learning algorithm
in multi population and heterogeneous DTNs for energy efficient optimal throughput data
transmission protocol.
Energy Management Mechanism in Wireless Access Networks (Collaboration with
TIFR, India) Sleep mode analysis, performance evaluation and optimization for wireless
access network user terminal (such as WiMAX, LTE, . . .)
- Modelling of the sleep cycle as an M/G/1 queue server with repeated independent and
inhomogeneous vacation distribution and analyzed using the Stochastic decomposition
approach (applicable to large classes of sleep policies).
- Optimization framework and comparative study of the performance of the optimal power
save policies with the IEEE 802.16e standard protocol. Control of sleep mode via optimal
sampling for state change detection for user equipment
- Markov decision process based modelling and algorithm design to obtain the optimal
sleeping period and the optimal policy by system state estimation for an arbitrary traffic.
- Parametric optimization based approach to obtain optimal sleep policies for UE within
the restricted class of policies (of practical implementation significance).
Egoism, Cooperation and Altruism in Routing Games and Aloha games
(Collaboration with Penn State Univ., USA, Sup elec, France)
- Modelling and analysis of routing games in a cooperative framework revealing various
structural properties, e.g. cessation of Nash equilibriums uniqueness, etc. Discovered a
new paradox, called as Cooperation paradox.
- Studied the impact of altruism in an Aloha network within a game theoretic framework
revealing various structural properties, e.g. stable interior Nash equilibrium.
Engineer (D&E), Bharat Electronics Limited, Bangalore (July 01- July 03)
- Design and development (system and software modules) of Ku, Ka band
communication radar systems, test zig and integration of surveillance systems.
