DASA / NRI
A few years back, EDCIL(Educational Consultants India Ltd.) noticed that Indian
students studying abroad are unable to avail of coaching facilities for the AIEEE
examinations, unlike their counterparts residing in India where coaching institutes are
found at a stone's throw from one another. Thus the former are unable to compete with the
latter.

Thousands of complaints, petitions and requests from parents of NRI students led to the
DASA(Direct Admission of Students Abroad) scheme. Thus allowing students from
abroad to directly apply to a select enginneering and architecture colleges in India and get
admitted based on their Class XII marks.

In NIT Trichy, there are two ways to get in if you are an NRI :
1.The DASA scheme which centrally allocates seats to various NITs and other colleges.
2.The NRI quota seats in the college are separate. You can directly apply to the college by
filling in the required form. Please click here to apply.

For more information about these schemes please visit the DASA section on the official
NITT website by clicking here.

Note:
1.You should have studied at least five years in an educational institution abroad ( including Class XI and
Class XII to qualify as an NRI candidate
2.Even if you are a foreign national, you can apply to NITT.Foreign nationals please click here.
