INTERVIEW QUESTIONS
The aim of the BAB-ROA (Broadcasting Advisory Board-Rave-On-Air) Mentoring Award is to recognise
excellence in PERSONAL SKILLS used as part of your contribution to ROA 2007. The questions you will be
asked by the judging panel are therefore designed to give you the opportunity to talk about these personal
skills, not your creative or technical abilities.

Please be prepared to answer the following questions at interview. NOTE: you will only need to answer the 5
questions which are specific to the award (Leadership OR Team Player OR Special Contribution) for which
you are applying.

LEADERSHIP AWARD
Please give circumstantial evidence of your abilities in ALL of the following five areas:

1. Identification of team strengths and weaknesses, and actions taken to improve team performance.

2. Time and resource planning with successful delivery to budget and deadline.

3. Constructive criticism given to colleagues in a sensitive, meaningful and useful way.

4. Motivation of team to progress and complete project.

5. Change management and flexibility to accommodate new ideas and goals as project progresses.

TEAM PLAYER AWARD


Please give circumstantial evidence of your abilities in ALL of the following five areas:

1. Co-operation and effective negotiation with fellow students, staff and suppliers.

2. Constructive analysis and criticism of own work and that of others in the team.

3. Collaborative contribution as one of a multi-disciplinary team, developing a collective resolution to a brief.

4. Independent working which helps fulfil the team’s set goals, by managing own workload and deadlines.

5. Practical support of other team members whose own remit has been challenged by external circumstances.
