Emmanuel Episcopal Church

Dear Friends in Christ

This is to inform you that I
will retire as of May 1, 2016. I do
this with a deep sense of
gratitude for the privilege of
serving alongside of you over the
years.
On a personal note, I
would like to thank the people of
St. Andrews, St. Matthews and
Emmanuel for the kindness and
warmth that have been shown to
the Taylor Family over these
years. When we began our
ministry together back in 1985
who could have imagined that
some 31 years later I would retire
to a place that has become our
home. Thats quite a lot for this
Pennsylvania boy to admit. I have
loved every minute of it both the
easy times and the hard times. We
have accomplished a great deal
not only in caring for our parishes
but more importantly in reaching
out to those in our communities
with a special care and
proclaiming of the Good News
that we are called to share.

In the next several

months that lie before us, I am
not planning to sit idle. There
are still a few things I would
like us to accomplish together.
However, these next months
will go very quickly. In that
time, I ask for your prayers as
Donna and I begin a new phase
in our life.
It is my intention to
support Mother Lisa as I have
been doing this for the last
several months. When my time
comes to bid you farewell, I ask
that you refrain from asking me
to do anything that would break
the ethical relationship by which
I have attempted to guide my
life, as your Priest, and in my
relationships with other clergy.
Our relationship after all
these years will be different. I
will no longer be your Priest but
I will be your friend and fellow
traveler of The Way. I can no
longer officiate at your
weddings, funerals, baptisms,

Donna and I are planning to

live at the home we have
been preparing over the years
at Chenango Lake. We are
remaining here in order to be
close to our family and to the
place that we have called
home for these many years.
It has been a joy to
serve as your Priest these past
years. Donna and I will
always treasure these
wonderful times we have
shared with you. And our
prayers will always be for
Mother Lisa and you to have
as much fun together in
ministry as have the Taylors.
With Fondness for
you all,
Fr. Chuck Taylor
