Description

This course taught by an experienced certified athletic trainer, teaches


you about different roles in the multi-disciplinary approach to
concussion management. This course covers the testing process,
identifying an invalid test, and how composite scores are calculated.

Learning Objectives

At the end of this course, the learner will be able to:

Utilize tips for successful baseline testing.

Employ guidelines for post-injury testing.

provide lmPACT with at least three (3) calendar days notice in
advance of the workshop; (ii) reschedule to participate in another

participate in the workshop in your place. If you provide notice to
ImPACT fewer than three (3) calendar days in advance of the
workshop, you may reschedule to participate in another event of
equal or lesser value or substitute someone in your place, but you
cannot receive a refund. All cancellations and refund requests
must be submitted by the purchaser to lmPACT Applications, Inc.
and emailed to training@impacttest.com.

Completion Policy

Learners must view the course in its entirety to be issued a


statement of credit.

Continuing Education Credits


Athletic Trainers

ImPACT Applications, Inc. (BOC AP# P3429) is approved


by the Board of Certification, Inc. to provide continuing
education to Athletic Trainers. This program is eligible
for a maximum of 1.50 Category A hours/CEUs. ATs
should claim only those hours actually spent in the
educational program.

Physical Therapists

At this time ImPACT is not able to offer pre-approved continuing


education credits to physical therapists for this course. You will
receive a certificate of attendance for each of our courses with
contact hours listed. Review your state laws to determine if this
training can be applied toward continuing education without
pre-approval.

Physicians

At this time, ImPACT is not able to offer AMA PRA Category 1


Credits. You will receive a certificate of attendance for each of our
courses with contact hours listed. Review your local, state, and
national Medical Society laws to determine if this training can be

Professions

At this time ImPACT is not able to offer continuing education


credits to occupational therapists, psychologists, registered
nurses, or other healthcare professionals. We are in the process
of applying to be able to offer credits to as many disciplines as
possible and hope to have the ability to offer credits at future
training events.

Janna Fonseca, MEd, LAT, ATC

Janna Fonseca received her Bachelors Degree in Sports Medicine and Athletic Training
from Southwest Missouri State in 2002. She completed her Masters Degree in
Educational Administration from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln where she also
worked as the athletic trainer for the Cornhuskers Women Basketball Team.
Following one year as an assistant athletic trainer at Creighton University in Omaha,
Nebraska she joined Carolina Family Practice & Sports Medicine. Janna was named
the head athletic trainer at CFPSM in September 2006. In her current role, she
oversees the sports medicine program including community outreach and in-house
sports medicine care for the three-location. Janna also helped to establish the
Carolina Sports Concussion Clinic which was founded in 2008.
The North Carolina Athletic Trainers Association honored Janna in 2009 by naming her
the Clinical/Industrial/Professional Athletic Trainer of the Year.
In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Janna served as the USA Baseball team
athletic trainer for the bronze-medal Pan-Am 18U team and in 2011 served as coathletic trainer for the USA Baseballs Collegiate National Team.
Janna has presented for several local community groups regarding concussion
recognition and management and participated in a feature presentation at the 2011
National Athletic Trainers Association Symposium.
Jannas husband Jose, also a certified athletic trainer, works with the mens basketball
team at Duke University. They reside in Durham with their children Pete and Alexis.
