From

Hi
Sha+in
Thank
you
for
your
ebook
Five
Gold
Keys
As
I
have
felt
some
changes
in
me
after
reading
your
book
in
less
than
a
week,
I
am
writing
to
say
thank
you
for
your
work
and
the
enormous
impact
it
has
on
people,
like
me.
I
am
a
stay
at
home
mom
with
2
children,
one
is
10
years
old
and
the
other
is
10
months
old.
In
general
I
am
contented
with
my
life,
but
still
have
feeling
of
being
more
and
want
to
search
for
it,
also
my
health
was
stagnant,
I
got
exhausted
eas-
ily.
I
have
read
lots
of
book,
followed
lots
of
more
enlightened
people,
I
read
most
in-
formation
that
is
available
to
me
and
they
all
have
made
me
hungry
for
more
until
I
read
your
book.
For
the
+irst
3
keys,
I
read
one
by
one,
meaning,
I
wont
continue
until
I
do
something
that
is
required
and
I
leave
the
whole
day
practicing
it.
I
cant
believe
my
life
can
change
so
quickly.
In
less
than
a
week,
I
+ind
that:
1.
I
am
more
healthy,
vibrant,
energized:
I
love
my
work
and
even
can
help
my
husband
with
his
work
in
the
house
without
complaining.
I
have
more
time
for
myself
too.
2.
I
am
aware
of
the
present
and
of
what
is
happening
in
my
body:
I
love
playing
hide
and
seek
with
whatever
is
in
my
mind,
its
such
a
fun
game
and
now
I
know
myself
more
than
ever
before.
3.
I
no
longer
hunger
for
more
(spiritual,
personal
development
etc)
information.
I
still
read
for
fun,
not
because
If
I
dont
read,
Ill
miss
out
something.
The
key
stop
+idgeting
men-
tally
is
a
waking
call
for
me.
I
think
the
book
really
keeps
the
promise
of
its
goal,
which
is
inner
freedom
for
those
who
read
it.
For
me,
it
has
given
even
more
and
I
can
not
say
what
it
is
as
it
must
be
experi-
enced
and
felt
inside.
iv
I
will
continue
applying
the
keys
for
the
journey
ahead
until
they
are
in
my
+lesh
and
bones.
I
highly
recommend
the
book
for
those
who
are
searching
for
peace
of
mind
and
in-
ner
freedom
by
practicing
only
what
is
written
there.
Thanks
again
and
look
forward
to
more
communication
from
you.

From
Patrizia:
Hi
Sha+in.
Just
+inished
reading
Five
Gold
Keys.
I
came
into
this
world
on
the
6th
day
of
February,
many
many
moons
ago.
An
administrative
professional,
Im
a
well-rounded
individual,
or
so
I
thought
until
I
read
Five
Gold
Keys
and
realized
that
it
is
my
life
story
written
by
someone
else
always
seem
to
choose
the
greater
of
the
two
evils,
and
ending
up
against
a
brick
wall.
Five
Gold
Keys
was
helpful
in
showing
me
the
right
way
to
go
about
lifes
little
annoyances
and
come
out
being
the
better
for
each
experience.
It
can
help
others
too
because
there
are
many
persons,
like
myself,
who
will
read
it
and
see
themselves
in
the
pages
and
learn
how
to
undo
the
negative
traits
they
have
accumu-
lated
over
the
years.

Hi,
I

I
am
married
with
two

kind
of
an

inter-
ested
in
nature,
building
a
better
world
through
healing
and
understanding,
and
working
on
my
own
shortcom-
ings.
The
Gold
Keys
by
Sha+in
was
wonderful
as
it
served
to
be
a
REMINDER
of
my
goals.
It
is
so
easy
to
get
distracted,
to
not
see
the
forest
for
the
trees!
Also
it
gives
very
practical
ways
to
keep
focused
and
ways
to
actually
attain
the
goal
of
freedom
from
'human
insanity!'
Every
person
falls
prey
to
the
things
outlined
in
this
long
article/short
book
by
Sha+in,
and
every
person
can
bene+it
by
knowing
and
applying
these
+ive
gold
keys
of
wisdom.
I
would
highly
recommend
reading
it;
it
is
not
too
long
and
the

HOOKS
you
and
cuts
to
the
quick!
Very
potent
straightforward
truth.
I
loved
it!

SHAFIN DE ZANE
5 GOLD KEYS
For Practical Life Magic
"Life
is
full
of
dissatisfaction"
-
Buddha
said
that,
and
the
reason
for
this
dissat-
isfaction
is
our
ignorance
about
our
own
animalistic
instincts
and
not
know-
ing
how
to
transcend
them;
the
path
to
liberation
begins
with
making
an
ef-
fort
to
overcome
these
animalistic
instincts.
Good
observation...
but
what
does
that
mean?
When
we
look
around
without
our
usual
?ilters
of
fears,
fantasies,
desires
or
preprogrammed
prejudices,
we
see
that
we
are
living
in
a
world
that
is
care-
fully
structured
to
perpetuate
various
forms
of
slavery,
some
easy
to
see
and
some
not
so
easy
at
all.
More
importantly
we
see
a
world
?illed
with
people
who
are
more
than
willing
to
commit
to
slavery
of
all
kinds.
This
is
strange,
but
true.
Why
is
that?
The
philosopher
Nietzsche
wrote
that
humans
in
their
current
state
of
evo-
lution
are
stuck
between
two
states:
animal
and
superman.
We
have
latent
within
us
the
power
to
go
beyond
almost
all
limitations
imposed
by
biology
and
yet
we
are
also
helplessly
controlled
by
our
animalistic
instincts
of
vio-
lence,
rage,
fear,
craving,
and
addictions
that
de?ine
our
destinies.
The
prob-
lem
is
further
complicated
by
the
pressures
of
exponentially
fast
growing
technologies,
as
well
the
fast
expanding
gap
between
the
vast
majority
who
are
stuck
in
their
thought
based
worlds
of
"Me
and
My
story"
and
those
who
have
broken
free
from
this
very
common
psychological
dysfunction
that
causes
people
mistake
their
thought
worlds
for
actual
reality.
Add
to
that
humans
are
multiplying
faster
than
ever
before
and
children
are
being
born
to
parents
who
have
no
clear
understanding
whatsoever
about
10
how
to
live
in
this
super
fast
changing
world
designed
by
other
humans
who
posses
a
level
of
intelligence
that
is
literally
beyond
their
normal
abilities
of
comprehension.
Entire
lives
pass
by
without
ever
suspecting
that
one
is
living
the
insane
life
of
a
slave
who
isn't
even
aware
that
he
or
she
is
a
slave
inside
and
outside.
So
what
is
the
solution?
That
is
what
this
message
is
about.
The
solution
is
simple;
in
fact
it
is
so
simple,
Im
afraid
you
might
fail
to
appreciate
the
as-
tounding
amount
of
freedom
and
power
that
comes
with
it.
What
follows
is
a
formula
that
took
me
nearly
twenty
years
to
?ine
tune.
During
these
twenty
years,
I
started
off
my
own
journey
of
self-discovery
fueled
by
a
total
and
com-
plete
dissatisfaction
of
the
life
I
was
born
into,
spent
my
every
last
dollar
try-
ing
to
?ind
a
solution,
eventually
went
through
a
process
of
radical
healing
with
hypnotherapy,
then
established
myself
as
a
professional
hypnotherapist,
then
gained
some
fame
and
respect
in
about
100
countries
across
the
planet
through
a
book
I
wrote
called
Rede6ine
Your
Reality,
touched
over
100,000
lives
directly
and
virtually
as
a
teacher
of
practical
spirituality,
and
today
still
continuing
my
journey
in
search
of
the
endless
secrets
that
lay
hidden
and
pervade
our
everyday
reality.
The
reason
I
shared
with
you
this
nutshell
of
an
autobiography
is
to
tell
you
this:
I
have
some
experience
in
training
people
and
in
my
experience
its
very
easy
to
get
people
excited
about
a
life
changing
idea
(especially
if
you
know
a
thing
or
two
about
how
the
mind
works),
but
devilishly
dif?icult
to
make
them
continue
to
remember
and
follow
it
consistently.
(Remember
all
the
new
years
resolutions
you
didn't
follow,
all
the
promises
about
jogging
three
times
a
week,
and
to
meditate?)
Generally
speaking,
people
love
shortcuts
and
quick
?ixes,
especially
ones
that
hint
at
solving
all
of
ones
life
problems
without
having
to
do
any
hard
work
about
it.
The
idea
that
most
people
just
cannot
grasp
is
that
doing
the
same
things
over
and
over
expecting
different
results
is
a
sign
of
insanity
-
this
is
especially
true
if
you
are
trying
to
bring
about
a
radical
change
in
your
life
situation.
Again
and
again
people
fall
for
the
illusion
that
there
exists
some
magic
pill
that
can
change
their
life
experience
without
any
need
to
change
11
their
behavior
patterns.
It's
silly,
downright
juvenile,
but
its
so
predictable
that
nearly
every
advertisement
and
marketing
campaigns
in
the
world
re-
volve
around
it.
What
I
am
reminding
you,
before
I
go
on
to
introduce
my
own
"magic
formula",
is
that
there
is
no
magic
that
works
unless
you
practice,
prac-
tice,
and
practice
some
more.
Even
Harry
Potter
needed
years
of
dedicated
practice
before
he
could
do
some
interesting
magic.
In
other
words:
the
secret
is
not
in
the
formula,
but
what
happens
to
your
consciousness
when
you
keep
using
the
formula.
When
you
upgrade
your
mental
models
by
reading
a
book
like
this
(or
learning
from
a
teacher),
what
happens
is
your
neural
patterns
(literally
how
your
brain
is
wired)
begin
to
change,
this
then
triggers
a
series
of
changes
which
causes
your
subconscious
?ilters
of
beliefs
to
rearrange,
and
when
that
happens,
your
life
changes
-
this
is
the
great
secret.
So
the
magic
formula
is
a
speci?ically
designed
pattern
of
behavior
you
follow
to
speed
up
that
process
of
transformation
and
cement
that
change.
However,
please
remember
that
like
any
roads
our
neural
path-
ways
also
take
time
to
change.
The
secret
is
repetition
and
practice,
practice
and
repeat,
repeat
and
practice.
If
you
are
willing
to
do
that,
what
follows
here
will
teach
you
how
to
gain
the
most
elusive
privilege
of
all
in
this
over-
crowded
and
superbly
predatory
human
society:
total
freedom.
Ready?
Here
goes
The
very
?irst
thing
you
need
to
decide
before
you
can
unleash
any
magic
is
what
do
you
want?
Simple
right?
Its
not.
Everyone
says
they
want
a
better
life,
but
if
you
ask
them
what
do
you
want
speci?ically,
they
have
no
idea.
Or
they
say
something
like
I
want
a
million
dollars!,
without
realizing
another
mind
numbing
obvious:
Dollars
are
agreements
between
people,
they
come
to
you
when
you
offer
something
of
value
to
someone
else;
they
are
a
replacement
for
our
old
sys-
tem
of
barter:
Ill
give
you
my
goat
in
exchange
of
ten
pairs
of
those
nice
shoes
you
made.
Since
carrying
goats
and
?iguring
out
who
wants
your
goat
in
the
?irst
place
got
very
cumbersome
in
our
large
societies,
now
we
use
dollars,
12
which
are
simply
agreements
that
if
you
?lash
one
or
two
of
them
in
your
near-
est
grocery
store,
they
will
give
you
a
bag
of
cookies.
Everyone
wants
dollars,
not
everyone
wants
goats,
so
now
we
use
dollars
instead
of
goats.
But
the
idea
is
same:
you
get
it
in
exchange
of
something
else.
You
dont
get
it
because
you
visualize
dollars
in
your
head
all
day.
So
let
me
ask
you
again,
what
do
you
want
speci?ically?
Give
it
couple
of
minutes
to
consider
the
question,
and
then
read
the
rest
of
this.
...
Got
it?
Good.
Now
throw
it
out
the
window.
Unfortunately
that
was
a
trick
question.
It
really
doesn't
matter
what
little
fantasy
goodie
you
have
on
mind
because
ultimately
what
you
are
looking
for
is
freedom,
inner
and
outer,
total
and
complete.
And
if
you
are
not,
you
should
be,
because
without
freedom,
nothing
else
matters.
(You
could
also
say
love,
but
love
is
impossible
for
some-
one
without
freedom,
at
best
it
is
a
self-deluding
fantasy.)
So
if
there
is
one
goal
that
is
truly
worthy
of
your
human
existence,
it
is
freedom,
primarily
for
yourself,
which
the
only
way
you
can
ever
offer
it
to
others.
Only
a
free
being
can
respect,
celebrate
and
share
freedom;
all
else
is
some
perpetuation
of
madness.
Freedom,
however,
is
not
an
easy
thing
to
handle.
First
of
all
and
most
im-
portantly,
embracing
freedom
necessitates
healing
of
the
mind.
Only
after
healing
can
one
embrace
and
sustain
total
freedom.
Without
healing
the
mag-
netic
wounds
of
our
unconscious,
everything
is
a
trap.
Freedom
is
not
some-
thing
you
can
hope
for
or
get
lucky
with;
its
attainment
requires
strategic,
careful,
fearless,
single
minded
and
above
all
systematic
intervention
for
heal-
ing
the
unconscious
insanity
of
the
animalistic
body
and
mind.
So
now
we
have
something
to
begin
our
training.
Our
goal
is
freedom.
Spe-
ci?ically
inner
freedom:
which
means
freedom
from
our
unconscious
repetitive
patterns
of
self-limiting
behavior.
13
Why
is
inner
freedom
our
speci?ic
goal,
instead
of
outer
freedom?
Be-
cause
outer
freedom
is
a
meaningless
concept
for
someone
who
has
no
inner
freedom.
In
fact
unless
you
have
inner
freedom
?irst,
outer
freedom
is
a
per-
fectly
good
formula
for
disaster.
Look
at
the
lives
of
countless
Hollywood
ce-
lebrities
and
people
who
suddenly
inherit
a
lot
of
money,
and
you
will
see
what
happens
when
you
get
a
lot
of
outer
freedom
without
inner
freedom:
what
you
get
is
endless
trips
to
divorce
lawyers
and
rehabs,
and
occasionally
a
self-in?licted
drug
overdose
or
a
bullet
in
the
head.
So
the
freedom
we
are
interested
in
primarily
is
freedom
from
the
myriad
psychological
prisons
we
?ind
ourselves
living
in:
the
prison
of
physical
addic-
tions
and
mental
cravings
that
keep
us
bound
to
certain
lifestyles,
the
prison
of
marriage
without
love,
the
prison
of
a
job
without
heart,
prison
of
a
family
without
growth
each
of
which
are
examples
and
symptoms
of
our
own
uncon-
scious
patterns
of
behavior
that
require
healing.
In
other
words,
they
are
pris-
ons
of
our
own
mind;
some
of
us
were
born
into
a
prison
then
helped
expand
it
further,
some
of
us
have
built
our
own
prisons
one
brick
at
a
time
over
the
years.
The
good
news
is
when
you
have
inner
freedom,
outer
freedom
always
fol-
lows.
The
inside
always
changes
the
outside.
The
outside
is
always
a
re?lec-
tion
of
the
inside.
And
changing
the
inside
is
purely
a
matter
of
choice
and
de-
termination.
This
is
the
big
magic
component
here.
You
can
?ight
with
it,
run
away
from
it,
try
to
forget
it,
convince
yourself
that
its
not
true,
try
to
device
ever
cleverer
shortcuts
to
dollars
and
happiness
until
the
cows
come
home,
but
the
fact
remains
this:
Until
you
have
healed
your
animalistic
instincts,
the
congenital
madness
that
comes
with
being
human,
you
will
not
?ind
happiness.
At
best
you
can
be-
come
like
what
the
Chinese
people
call
hungry
ghosts:
you
can
be
sur-
rounded
by
more
dollars
than
you
can
count
and
you
will
only
drown
in
it
without
ever
experiencing
the
authentic
freedom
and
ful?illment
that
you
were
hungry
and
thirsty
for.
14
With
that
in
mind,
here
is
your
magic
formula.
Its
simple.
Its
easy
to
re-
member.
Its
easy
to
practice,
well
easier
that
many
other
things
at
least.
going
to
do.
You
cannot
want
it
and
not
want
it
at
the
same
time
(which
the
human
mind
is
surprisingly
good
at).
The
solution?
Find
clarity.
Write
down
why
you
absolutely
must
have
what
you
are
focusing
upon,
?ind
out
why
its
simply
inconceivable
not
having
it,
why
not
having
it
is
as
good
as
not
living
-
if
you
can
come
to
that
level
of
clarity,
you
are
ready
for
the
second
gold
key.
16
So
what
do
you
have
to
do?
Nothing
really,
except
make
a
genuine
commit-
ment
within
the
depths
of
your
heart
to
follow
your
chosen
goal
no
matter
what.
The
moment
you
make
that
de?inite
decision,
a
whole
web
of
in?initely
connected
events
will
begin
to
unfold
your
moment
of
de?inite
commitment
is
the
beginning
of
your
journey.
...
One
of
the
very
?irst
signs
that
your
journey
has
begun
is
the
encounter
with
the
dragon;
the
dragon
is
the
guardian
of
the
inner
secrets;
it
can
be
an
inner
dragon
or
outer
dragon.
This
is
the
?irst
obstacle.
The
outer
dragon
says:
Turn
back
innocent
one,
go
back
to
your
village
where
each
day
is
the
same
as
every
other
day,
that
is
where
you
belong,
this
path
is
not
for
you!
In
more
everyday
modern
life
words,
what
you
encounter
is
some
obstacle
or
limitation
in
the
form
of
?ire-breathing
authority
?igure,
or
boss
or
parents
or
business
partners
who
will
try
to
turn
you
away
from
your
chosen
path.
The
inner
dragon
comes
in
the
form
of
a
physical
addiction
or
mental
craving.
Addictions
and
cravings
can
be
drugs,
alcohol,
money,
power,
atten-
tion,
fame
and
of
course
most
powerful
of
them
all:
our
psychological
attach-
ment
to
the
illusion
of
certainty,
AKA
our
comfort
zone.
The
inner
dragon
says
almost
the
same
things
as
the
outer
dragon
except
now
the
drama
plays
out
in
our
own
head,
in
thoughts
and
dreams.
Whether
you
encounter
the
inner
dragon
or
outer
dragon,
you
will
have
to
overcome
this
obstacle
to
continue
your
journey.
I
will
use
the
example
of
outer
dragons
in
this
text
for
the
sake
of
brevity
and
simplicity,
but
the
tech-
nique
to
deal
with
them
is
more
or
less
same
whether
they
are
inner
or
outer.
The
dragons
will
keep
coming
and
coming
and
coming,
again
and
again,
in
many
forms
and
?lavors
with
ever
clever
ways
to
keep
you
from
going
for-
ward.
Sometimes
they
will
try
to
kill
you,
sometimes
scare
you,
sometimes
coax
you,
and
sometimes
fall
in
love
with
you
(and
then
try
to
kill
you
meta-
phorically
speaking
of
course).
The
idea
is
the
same:
the
dragon
is
here
to
weed
out
the
unworthy
from
the
worthy.
And
until
all
your
insecurities,
impu-
17
rities,
self-deceiving
patterns
of
behavior
are
weeded
out,
the
dragons
will
keep
coming
at
you;
its
just
part
of
the
game.
And
its
for
your
own
bene?it,
thats
the
important
part
to
remember.
So
how
do
you
deal
with
the
dragon?
That
is
what
this
golden
key
is
all
about.
Usually,
what
people
do
is
either
quickly
give
up
their
high
hopes
immedi-
ately
upon
encountering
the
dragon
(because
that
was
the
last
thing
they
were
ready
to
encounter,
everyone
thinks
the
road
to
freedom
should
be
easy),
or
they
try
to
?ight
the
dragon
with
brute
force,
which
is
a
terrible
idea,
to
say
the
very
least.
Even
if
you
are
able
to
subdue
the
dragon
with
pure
force,
you
have
robbed
yourself
the
lesson
that
the
dragon
was
carrying,
and
therefore
on
the
way
to
an
even
more
powerful
dragon
somewhere
very
soon
down
the
road.
What
you
do
is
this:
you
observe,
especially
when
the
dragon
is
pounding
on
your
face.
Read
the
last
line
again.
However
dif?icult
it
is,
you
train
yourself
to
look
directly,
you
train
yourself
to
observe.
What
do
you
observe?
Two
things:
First
you
observe
the
dragon
itself,
which
helps
you
to
gather
very
valu-
able
information
about
how
the
dragon
operates,
its
psychology,
its
strengths,
weaknesses
and
strategies.
Most
people
get
so
blinded
by
rage
and
fear
that
they
learn
nothing
about
the
dragon
and
come
out
sorely
defeated
giving
away
all
sorts
of
clues
about
their
own
weaknesses.
But
more
importantly,
and
this
is
the
most
important
and
valuable
exer-
cise
out
of
this
entire
formula:
you
train
yourself
to
observe
your
own
brain
re-
sponse,
your
automatic
patterns
of
behavior,
especially
when
the
dragon
is
breathing
6ire
on
your
face.
Read
the
last
line
as
many
times
as
necessary
until
you
really
get
it.
What
you
will
?ind
is
this:
everyone
feels
like
the
Buddha
when
things
are
going
right,
when
you
are
in
the
arms
of
your
beloved,
when
you
just
got
a
truckload
of
money,
when
you
are
full
of
energy,
when
you
have
no
problems.
18
But
since
life
never
remains
that
way
forever,
only
when
the
dragon
is
threat-
ening
to
kill
you
is
when
you
?ind
out
what
you
truly
are.
You
discover
what
is
your
dominant
self-limiting
pattern
of
behavior:
The
child?
(I
cannot
take
responsibility)
The
victim?
(Its
their
fault,
entirely;
I
am
helpless,
clueless,
and
innocent)
The
prostitute?
(When
the
price
is
right,
Ill
abandon
my
chosen
goal;
and
unconsciously
I
am
always
waiting
for
the
right
offer)
The
saboteur?
(Ill
ruin
my
own
game
because
I
dont
believe
I
deserve
it)
The
dragon?
(You
turn
to
violence
and
tyranny
yourself:
You
try
to
hurt
me,
I
hurt
you
back
a
hundred
times,
this
is
the
only
way
that
works
in
the
real
world)
In
other
words,
when
you
learn
to
observe
the
dragon
(especially
when
its
pounding
on
your
face)
you
?ind
out
which
archetypal
patterns
of
behavior
are
dominant
in
your
brain,
which
ones
take
you
over
when
stress
is
high
and
there
is
no
time
to
think
(sometimes
called
neural
hijacking).
This
is
the
core
of
this
initiation:
Training
your
self
to
observe
your
own
behavior.
In
a
little
more
technical
term
(skip
to
the
next
paragraph
if
you
are
scared
of
scienti?ic
terms):
training
the
executive
center
of
your
brain
(the
prefrontal
cortex)
to
observe
the
workings
of
the
emotional
brain
(the
activation
of
amygdala
and
its
associated
drama).
With
the
power
of
observation
comes
power
to
take
control.
In
other
words,
you
can
control
and
reprogram
your
behavior
only
if
you
are
aware
of
it.
Whatever
patterns
of
behavior
you
are
unaware
of
is
what
will
control
your
life
from
the
shadows
and
you
will
forever
remain
a
slave
to
its
auto-
matic
reactive
activation
processes.
When
you
train
yourself
to
observe
your
unconscious
reactive
patterns
of
behavior,
you
discover
one
of
the
most
powerful
insights
that
both
ancient
spirituality
and
modern
neurosciences
agree
upon...
19
your
own
emotional
patterns,
you
cannot
be
patient
and
present
because
the
very
meaning
of
emotion
is
to
move
(from
Latin
emotere,
which
means
en-
ergy
in
motion).
Emotions
make
you
move,
makes
you
not
still,
which
makes
you
unable
to
observe.
As
you
practice
the
previous
gold
key
and
increase
your
power
of
observa-
tion,
you
increase
with
it
your
ability
to
be
still.
As
you
learn
to
be
still
and
ob-
serve
your
own
inner
states,
you
begin
to
realize
another
profound
truth...
Our
emotions
are
always
in
/lux:
they
are
always
changing,
no
matter
what
we
do,
what
we
have,
what
happens
to
us,
or
what
we
achieve.
An
anal-
ogy
sometimes
used
is
that
our
level
of
ful?illment
and
happiness
is
like
an
air
conditioner
set
at
a
certain
point,
lets
say
25
degrees
Celsius.
No
matter
what
we
do
externally,
our
brain
is
programmed
to
keep
it
at
that
set
temperature.
We
can
startle
it
to
a
cool
19
degrees
by
earning
a
million
dollars
but
soon
enough
it
will
climb
back
to
25
degrees.
Or
we
can
suddenly
lose
all
our
money
and
experience
a
sweating
40
degrees,
but
even
then
after
some
time
we
will
come
back
to
experiencing
25
degrees.
This
doesnt
intuitively
?it
very
well
with
what
we
want
to
believe
about
life,
but
many
studies
in
psychology
and
neurology
shows
this
to
be
correct.
This
explains
why
people
who
win
the
big
million
dollar
lottery
essentially
remains
the
same
people
as
who
they
were
before
they
won
the
lottery;
(after
the
initial
excitement)
if
they
were
sunny
and
happy
they
remain
still
sunny
and
happy,
if
they
were
lonely
and
gloomy,
they
remain
still
lonely
and
gloomy.
(Is
there
a
way
to
change
our
ba-
sic
neural
network,
sure
there
is,
but
thats
another
story
and
the
journey
re-
quires
careful
long
term
training.
In
a
word,
here
is
the
?irst
step:
meditate.)
So
what
does
that
mean
for
us
in
search
of
freedom?
It
means
no
matter
what
you
do
externally,
there
is
no
such
thing
as
permanently
one
emotion:
happiness.
What
there
is,
ironically,
is
one
permanent
state
you
can
imprison
yourself
in:
craving
happiness.
This
is
why
the
very
?irst
line
of
the
Buddhist
scripture
is:
Life
is
full
of
dis-
satisfaction.
Life
is
full
of
dissatisfaction
because
we
are
forever
chasing
the
il-
lusion
of
trying
to
retain
something
that
cannot
be
retained.
This
is
what
the
22
Lords
prayer
teaches
us
too
saying
lead
us
not
to
temptation.
The
temptation
is
forever
chasing
that
illusion
of
I
want
to
be
happy
all
the
time!
-
which
in
essence
means
a
steady
dose
of
happy
chemicals
in
the
brain:
serotonin,
dopa-
mine
and
oxytocin.
Our
entire
lives
go
by
as
we
keep
groping,
and
chasing
one
temptation
after
the
other,
forever
hoping
the
next
thing
is
what
will
?inally
make
us
happy
forever.
Learning
to
observe
teaches
us
to
look
directly
at
this
craving,
this
mental
?idgeting,
and
learn
about
the
myriad
ways
we
go
about
trying
to
alleviate
this
permanent
psychological
itch.
Patience
teaches
us
to
remain
quiet
and
calm
when
inevitably
the
stress
hormones
are
released;
bored,
lonely,
angry,
hungry,
frustrated,
sleepy,
tired,
pessimistic
these
are
all
the
states
we
all
go
through
no
matter
what
our
life
circumstance
is.
Everyone
experiences
these
states
periodically
in
greater
or
lesser
degrees;
even
if
you
are
married
to
your
soulmate,
billionaire,
world
fa-
mous
pop
star,
owner
of
a
villa
in
Tuscany,
travel
twice
monthly
it
doesnt
matter,
you
will
still
feel
all
of
those
things.
And
depending
on
your
pre-set
brain
chemistry,
you
will
also
experience
periodically
the
same
level
of
happi-
ness
and
ful?illment
that
you
generally
feel,
with
some
?luctuations
of
up
and
down,
here
and
there.
Inner
freedom
is
the
freedom
to
act
rationally,
with
clarity
and
wisdom,
even
when
these
inevitable
down
states
come
to
pass
through
your
conscious-
ness.
Inner
freedom
is
the
freedom
from
forever
being
dissatis?ied
because
nothing
you
ever
do
brings
you
that
illusion
of
permanent
happiness
into
real-
ity.
Inner
freedom
is
freedom
from
attachment
to
the
illusion
of
permanent
happiness
or
up
state.
And
that,
Buddha
says,
is
the
beginning
of
enlighten-
ment.
Which
brings
us
to
the
deeper
wisdom
of
being
patient:
surrender.
Stop
+idgeting
mentally!
This
means
you
allow
the
present
moment
to
be
as
it
is,
how
it
is,
because
it
is
perfect
(even
when
the
dragon
is
pounding
your
face).
This
means
you
surrender
your
pre-programmed
prejudices,
your
preconceived
ideas
about
how
things
should
be,
your
fantasies
about
what
will
make
you
happy,
and
you
live
this
present
moment
with
acceptance
and
23
serenity.
You
remind
yourself
that
there
is
an
intelligent
force
that
is
beating
your
heart,
controlling
your
breath
when
you
are
not
thinking
about
it,
execut-
ing
liver
functions
and
?iring
the
100
billion
neurons
of
your
brain
that
is
al-
lowing
you
to
think.
None
of
this
is
within
your
control
right
now,
and
your
worrying
ego
mind,
the
me
thought-stream,
didnt
control
any
of
it
while
the
universe
evolved
for
about
13.8
billion
years
before
becoming
you.
Patience
is
another
name
for
surrender.
But
since
surrender
is
an
illusion
(surrender
to
what?
That
which
is
already
you?),
I
use
the
term
patience.
But
I
like
to
use
the
expression
stop
6idgeting
mentally
even
more.
Patience
is
the
high
wisdom
usually
gained
after
spending
a
lot
of
the
most
expensive
cur-
rency
in
the
world:
time.
It
teaches
us
one
of
the
most
profound
secrets
of
life:
this
moment
is
perfect.
If
you
can
only
stop
to
?idget,
if
you
can
stop
?ighting,
if
you
can
stop
saying
all
those
clever
or
hurtful
things
that
you
are
saying,
one
day
you
will
look
back
and
realize
with
profound
gratitude
how
perfectly
this
moment
was
weaved,
personally
for
you,
from
the
eternal
fabric
of
space
and
time,
cause
and
effect.
In
the
depth
and
heart
of
existence
there
is
sublime
perfection,
pa-
tience
allows
you
to
see
this.
Patience
also
means
waiting
without
waiting
for
the
inevitable
to
occur.
If
you
remember
your
ultimate
goal,
if
you
have
dedicated
yourself
to
healing
your
human
madness,
if
you
have
committed
yourself
to
the
heros
journey,
the
guiding
force
of
life
will
bring
you
exactly
those
situations,
people
and
challenges
that
will
help
you
achieve
your
goal
in
the
shortest
possible
time.
Patience
means
trusting
that
the
intelligence
that
knows
how
to
beat
your
heart
and
synchronize
trillions
of
cells
of
your
body,
keeps
the
sun
and
moon
and
galaxies
in
perfect
order
for
you
to
exist,
also
knows
what
is
best
for
you
at
this
present
moment.
When
you
are
able
to
accept
this,
you
can
relax
with-
out
fear,
no
matter
what
is
happening,
and
when
you
relax,
you
can
begin
to
pay
attention
(Gold
Key
#2),
and
when
you
pay
attention,
you
learn,
you
evolve
to
the
next
stage
of
your
personal
evolution.
24
Idiots
?ight;
remember
that,
for
all
things
are
One.
When
you
?ight,
you
are
?ighting
against
the
very
fabric
of
life
itself,
only
profound
ignorance,
stupid-
ity
or
pure
greed
and
willful
cancer
like
behavior
can
explain
the
craving
to
?ight.
Finally,
when
you
embark
upon
an
adventure
that
has
no
end,
when
you
align
yourself
with
the
heartbeat
of
life,
which
is
evolution,
when
you
commit
yourself
to
the
heros
journey,
patience
is
the
critical
ingredient
for
maintain-
ing
sanity.
This
journey
dissolves
all
the
way
to
in?inity
and
even
contemplating
such
a
prospect
is
enough
make
a
human
brain
unstable.
Looking
at
in?inity
is
the
similar
to
looking
at
the
sun,
only
in?initely
more
powerful.
To
accommodate
such
a
vision,
and
you
will
encounter
the
vision
once
in
a
while
on
the
jour-
ney
towards
total
freedom,
you
will
need
strength,
courage,
and
patience.
The
journey
to
in?inity
involves
all
eternity.
In
practical
everyday
circumstances,
patience
is
the
magic
that
you
use
to
transform
obstacles
and
grievances
into
miracles.
You
simply
allow
things
to
be;
more
than
that,
you
learn
the
art
of
?lowing
with
whatever
that
arises.
You
suspend
judgment
and
prejudice.
If
what
is
arising
is
bringing
you
pain,
you
have
two
choices:
a.
Take
action,
only
if
you
are
full
energy.
b. Be
patient,
observe,
learn
and
realize
that
this
discomfort
has
been
de-
signed
precisely
and
personally
for
you,
so
you
can
overcome
your
laziness
and
move
ahead
in
full
speed.
You
discover
that
maybe,
just
maybe,
its
really
not
about
them,
its
entirely
about
you,
because
somewhere
along
the
way
you
made
a
commitment,
a
commitment
to
become
completely
free.
This
discomfort
is
just
part
of
that
training.

26
So
what
is
the
solution?
The
solution
is
being
truly
sick
and
tired
of
mind-
lessly
suffering,
of
doing
the
same
things
over
and
over
and
expecting
different
results,
of
making
the
same
mistakes
over
and
over
again.
In
other
words,
the
solution
is
truly
stop
playing
games
with
yourself
and
making
a
real
decision
to
heal
yourself
from
these
ancient
animal
instincts
that
are
no
longer
serve
us
in
this
new
world
that
is
changing
faster
than
ever
before.
The
solution
is
following
the
previous
three
gold
keys:
know
your
ultimate
goal
(inner
free-
dom),
pay
attention
to
your
stored
neurological
patterns
of
behavior,
stop
?idg-
eting
mentally
and
be
patient
when
you
do
that,
you
can
practice
this
fourth
gold
key:
feel
time.
Feeling
time
means
knowing
what
to
do,
and
when
to
do
it.
It
means
being
so
attuned
with
the
dance
of
life
that
your
entire
being
merges
with
it,
your
consciousness
becomes
at
one
with
the
?low
of
the
present
moment.
When
you
are
One
with
the
?low
of
life,
you
begin
to
sense
the
information
network
that
connects
all
things
and
beings;
then
you
begin
to
move
with
it...
then
when
the
time
is
right,
you
begin
to
move
it
-
this
is
the
essence
of
life
magic.
Timing
is
key.
But
more
importantly
than
that,
a
completely
lack
of
sel?ishness
is
absolute
prerequisite
for
anyone
whose
ultimate
goal
is
free-
dom.
Feeling
time
is
a
subtle
art
that
has
no
room
for
the
sel?ish
me
and
my
story
stream
of
thought.
Here
is
another
way
of
understanding
the
magical
art
that
is
feeling
time:
It
is
willingness
to
follow
the
deepest
truth
of
the
present
moment
no
matter
how
dif6icult
it
may
seem.
Like
all
magic,
this
too
requires
a
keyword
to
acti-
vate
its
awesome
powers,
remember
this
carefully:
love.
When
you
use
this
magic,
the
structure
of
reality
itself
will
change,
causing
a
rupture
in
the
fab-
ric
of
cause
and
effect
by
transcending
time,
making
this
the
most
powerful
magic
imaginable.
In
that
sense,
this
is
not
really
magic,
but
a
miracle.
Like
all
miracles,
this,
too,
is
not
subject
to
orders
of
dif?iculty.
But
remember
the
key-
word:
love,
for
without
it,
the
magic
can
destroy
the
one
who
unleashes
it.
Feeling
time
means
knowing
when
to
be
still
and
when
to
take
effortless
action
with
absolute
elegance.
This
only
becomes
possible
when
you
have
27
gained
substantial
energy
by
practicing
the
previous
three
gold
keys
and
har-
bor
within
you
not
even
a
thread
of
sel?ishness.
Without
enough
energy,
you
will
never
be
able
to
tell
time.
Without
transcending
sel?ish
desires,
all
that
is
visible
are
mirages
and
scenes
from
ones
own
stored
patterns
of
nightmares.
patterns
of
behavior.
In
other
words,
we
have
to
learn
to
observe:
our
own
be-
havior
patterns
primarily,
and
how
the
dragon
(life
itself)
moves
secondarily,
especially
in
moments
of
con?lict.
Next
we
have
to
remember
that
(in
the
words
of
King
Solomon)
For
everything
there
is
a
time
and
season
for
all
occasions
under
the
heaven.
This
means
being
patient
and
having
absolute
conviction
(faith
if
you
like
that
word
more)
that
when
you
follow
this
formula,
it
is
inevitable
that
what
you
seek
will
come
to
reality.
But
there
is
a
time
and
a
season
for
all
things
un-
der
the
heaven.
You
remain
calm
and
wait
without
waiting.
You
gain
energy.
When
you
have
enough
energy,
the
time
will
soon
be
ripe
enough
to
act,
and
it
will
be
time
to
do
what
needs
to
be
done.
This
is
the
time
to
take
that
step,
make
that
move,
and
do
what
is
necessary
to
do.
It
seems
like
after
all
the
preparation,
this
step
should
be
easy,
but
its
not.
Usually
we
are
terri?ied
when
that
moment
of
truth
arrives
and
we
hesitate
to
take
action,
because
its
one
thing
to
fantasize
great
things
and
quite
another
thing
to
seize
the
moment
and
actually
make
those
great
things
happen
by
making
that
leap
into
the
unknown.
And
if
in
our
hesitation
that
moment
passes
us
by,
everything
is
lost.
The
great
bird
of
freedom
comes
to
us
all
but
it
has
no
patience
for
hesita-
tion.
This
is
why
it
is
important
to
prepare
diligently
with
these
?ive
gold
keys.
The
oft
quoted
saying
Be
careful
what
you
wish
for
is
especially
applicable
when
you
practice
this.
We
truly
are
magical
beings
but
we
are
only
begin-
ning
to
discover
the
tremendous
extent
of
our
magic.
Our
deepest
fear
is
not
that
we
are
inadequate
but
that
we
are
powerful
beyond
measure
(a
quote
that
is
usually
credited
to
Nelson
Mandela).
In
my
experience
it
requires
tre-
mendous
strength
of
character
and
compassion
for
all
beings
before
we
are
ready
to
awaken
to
our
own
powers
and
magic.
Awaken
too
soon
and
your
own
powers
will
destroy
you.
So
we
practice
in
the
right
way,
and
in
the
right
order,
and
trust
that
when
the
time
is
right
the
?lower
will
surely
bloom.
29
In
the
end,
believe
it
or
not,
Silent
Will
is
all
you
need.
The
other
four
are
here
to
ensure
that
you
are
strong
enough
to
handle
the
effects
of
it.
Only
with
diligent
practice
will
you
realize
how
true
this
is.
So,
to
summarize,
here
is
the
entire
formula
for
you
in
a
nutshell:
First
Gold
Key:
Remember
your
goal,
be
very
clear
about
it.
Keep
it
in
the
foreground
of
your
consciousness.
Second
Gold
Key:
Observe
your
own
patterns
of
behavior,
especially
in
moments
of
con?lict.
Only
when
you
are
facing
a
con?lict
will
you
know
what
dysfunctional
patterns
of
behavior
are
stored
within
you.
Third
Gold
Key:
Be
Patient
and
stop
?idgeting
mentally.
Wait
without
without
waiting
for
the
inevitable
to
occur.
Fourth
Gold
Key:
Feel
Time
to
know
when
to
act
and
when
not
to.
Fifth
Gold
Key:
Silent
Will
is
the
single
minded
focus
on
that
which
is
your
goal.
You
do
not
have
to
run
around
pushing
or
pulling.
Simply
allow
things
to
occur
in
the
path
of
least
resistance.
When
you
use
this
simple
?ive
step
formula
again
and
again,
in
the
order
it
has
been
presented
to
you,
you
will
experience
the
astounding
power
and
ele-
gance
that
comes
through
it,
and
begin
to
live
life
as
the
magical
being
that
you
really
are.
I
look
forward
to
hearing
your
own
story
of
making
the
impossible
not
only
possible
but
part
of
your
everyday
life.
Till then...
