NEWS AND PRAYER REQUESTS

FROM JOHN AND BONITA PRYOR
Missionaries with Pioneer Bible Translators in Papua New Guinea

Thank you for your continuing prayers for John and Bonita Pryor. Your prayer support is
vital to their ministry.

We praise God for a successful Pioneer Missions Institute(PMI) in Dallas in early June. It
was well attended with many new recruits to the work, and a great spirit of fellowship and
renewal for veteran missionaries. Pray that the seeds sown that week will bear much fruit forthe
Kingdom.

A pressing prayer matter this month is for Bonita and her health. The report on her
mammogram was positive, but the doctors want to repeat it in six months. She has seen an
orthopedic doctor this month for the continuing pain in her shouber that has not responded to
therapy or medication. An MRI last week revealed a small tear in her rotator cuff. She will
undergo arthroscopic surgery on July 24 to repair that. While doing so, the doctor will also trim
away several bone spurs in that shoulder. If ail goes as planned, her recovery should take 2-3
months. Pray that the surgery will be successful and not require more extensive treatment. Her
insurance company does not want to pay for this surgery, so please pray that this will be worked
out as well.

John and Bonita continue to work with the stateside office of Pioneer Bible Translators to

assist others preparing to go to the mission field. They traveled to Dallas earlier this month to
meet with personnel that they will be mentoring. They continue to be a vital part of the PBT
ministry, even though they have had to remain in the States for an extended furlough due to
continuing medical problems. New doors of service continue to open for them. Please pray for
them as they travel and praise God for His safety for them thus far.
Please continue to pray for the folks at Samban, that we would hear from them. Pray
that all is weli in the viilage, for the church leaders and Sunday School teachers, and that Maso is
finding the time to work on the rough drafts of various Scripture texts.
Please continue to pray for Jesse and Karie, Naleh and Eii as they travel and make plans
to go to PNG to build a literacy/medical center in Samban. Pray for Josh as he makes plans for
his educational future and builds his massage therapy clientele. Remember John's mom, Olive
Pryor, in your prayers as weli, that she might continue to grow stronger as she heals from this
nerve damage in her ieg.
Thank your for your love and encouragement and your prayers. May God continue to
bless you as you serve Him.

NEWS AND PRAYER REQUESTS

FROM JOHN AND BONITA PRYOR
Missionaries with Pioneer Bibie Transiators in Papua New Guinea
October, 2003

Our big news this month is that John and Jesse will be traveling to Papua New Guinea
November 4 to December 19. Jesse and Karie have had great difficulty in securing the necessary

paperwork to allow them to work in PNG,so one of the government officials said it would be best
for Jesse to come in person and take care of that and then return for his family. The official that
Jesse spoke with is also from the Sepik area and recognized Jesse's accent. He seemed quite
agreeable to Jesse's ministry plans, but we have heard from another PBT missionary that the
Labour Minister is placing a moratorium on work permits. There wassome question as to
whether or not this man had the authority to do that. So please pray that the Lord will smooth

the way for the necessary paperwork to be taken care of and that Jesse and Karie might soon be
on their way to begin their literacy ministry in Samban. Pray that John and Jesse will have safety
In their travels and that their time in Samban will be beneficial to all. Pray for Bonita and also for
Karie and the children as they remain in the States and are separated from John and Jesse.

John and Bonita hope to travel to Tennessee the latter part of this month to visit with
some of their supporting churches in that area. They won't have time to see everyone and will
have to see others after John returns from PNG. Please pray for their safety as they travel and
that their meetings will be an encouragement to all involved.

Continue to pray for Maso, that he might find time for rough drafting. Pray for the
leaders of the church at Samban, as well as for all the folks in the church there, thatthey will
remain strong in the Lord.
Several health matters need your prayers this month:
Bonita continues to suffer intense pain as she undergoes physical therapy for her
shoulder. Please pray for complete healing and that she will regain full use cf this
shoulder quickly. Pray for a decrease in pain as she continues to work through it.
John has had a bout of bronchitis and Bonita was fighting a similar'"bug," although
hers was more in her sinuses. Please pray for their complete healing, especially
before they start their traveling.
John's mother, Olive Pryor, is going to physical therapy several times a week.
Please continue to pray for her complete healing.
Thank you so much for your faithful prayers, your love and encouragement. May God
richly bless you.

NEWS AND PRAYER REQUESTS

FROM JOHN AND BONITA PRYOR
Missionaries with Pioneer Bibie Transistors in Papua New Guinea
November,2003

November is traditionally the time of year that we pause to count our blessings and
thank the Lord for them. You are among those blessings! Thank you for your prayerful support
of the work of Pioneer Bible Translators and its missionaries, especially John and Bonita Pryor
who work among the Ap Ma people of Papua New Guinea.
Praise the Lord with us for the safe arrival of John and Jesse in Port Moresby. They left
the States on November 4 and plan to return on December 19, Lord willing. They were to meet

with the government officials in Port Moresby to complete the necessary registration so that
Jesse & Karie can be issued visas, work permits, etc. to begin their literacy ministry in Samban.

Pray that their time there will be productive and that they can accomplish everything that needs
to be done before they have to leave. They also plan to spend time in Madang, setting up bank
accounts, mailing addresses, etc. and then go on to Samban to visit with the folks there. Pray
that their visit to Samban will be encouraging to the people there and that John will have some

good quality time with Maso, their national co-translator, reviewing what he has done in the
translation. Pray that the house and tractor will be in good shape. Pray for their health while
they are gone. The tropical heat will be a factor to be dealt with. John still had a lingering
cough from his bronchitis when he left, plus he had a root canal/crown that had a microscopic
infection underneath it. He saw his dentist while in Tennessee about this, but he had no

openings long enough to work him in to deal with it, so he gave him a prescription to use if he
needed it for pain while gone. Pray that this tooth does not give John any problems while he is
overseas. Please continue to pray for Bonita, Josh and Olive in Oklahoma and for Karie, Naleh
and Eli in Indiana while John and Jesse are in PNG.

Bonita continues with physical therapy on her shoulder. She feels as though she may
have turned a corner recently in that it has been a little less painful. She did better with it on her
trip to Tennessee than she thought she might. Please continue to pray for her complete recovery
from this shoulder surgery.

John and Bonita enjoyed some wonderful visits with several of their supporting churches
while in Tennessee last month and are looking forward to seeing others in the new year. These

visits were very encouraging to them. Thank you for your prayers for their safety.
Thanks, too, for several people who contacted John and Bonita after the last letter with
words of encouragement. God is good! You were a blessing to them. Your encouragement and
your prayers mean so much to them. May God continue to bless you as you serve Him.
