Workflow for Server:

1. Install OS (server)
2. Rename your server pc name (later at remote desktop connection it will be easier to
remember)
a. Computer System-click change setting (eg. SALUG-PC) then restart.
3. Server Roles Install-Open Windows Server-Add roles-Wizard-next
a. Install Active Directory Domain Services (ADDS) Type (eg. salug.edu.ph)
b. Click dcpromo.exe before installing other roles or Start: run dcpromo.exe
c. Install DNS server
4. Install DHCP Server
a. Provide Static IP Address- Eg.192.168.1.10, Gateway to Router IP (eg
192.168.1.1)
b. Install Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) then validate
c. DHCP Scopes-Name (eg. SNHS Network)
d. Configure range-192.168.1.1-192.168.1.50
e. Should be same subnet
5. Create Users
a. Go to Start-Administrative tools-Active Directory User and ComputerDomain-Users-right click on the space and New and create user and
password
b. To make domain user into Admin user-right click on the user name you want
to make admin-property-member of-add- type administrators- check namesapply- ok.
6. Configure client pc to log in to domain (Client pc must have windows 7 ultimate or
higher)
a. Configure, IPV 4- (Eg 192.168.1.11, gateway (router IP), on the DNS server
put Server IP 192.168.1.10)
b. Go to My system properties to join to domain, change setting, Type domain
name you have created in server PC.
c. Ctrl +Alt+Delete to switch user, and type user name you have created in the
server pc, and type password
7. Configure folder redirection using Group Policy.
a. D/-create folder share to everyone and copy the path directory.
b. Start-administrative tools-group policy-forest-domain-zec.edu-edit default
domain policy-user configuration-policies-windows settings-folder
redirection-right click on the folder you want to create directory-then
properties-select Basic- paste path directory.
c. Run-gpupdate /force
8. Enable Remote Access-run-remote access-allow remote select users-addadministrator-ok
a. From client pc- run remote desktop connection-computer name of server or
IP address of server.
b. Use remote access on the client PC
9. Ping Server on client- run cmd- type: ping (ip of the server)
10. Configure Access Point (AP) (Rename SSID)
a. Type the IP of the router from web browser and then login.
b. Go to Advance setting-WLAN setting-Basic setting-make SSID (eg: Zamsula),
Wlan advance setting-choose wifi security type (eg, WPK-)-wifi password,
apply.
11. Connect Laptop using AP
a. Connect wifi-configure IPv4
b. Connect to domain-go to my system properties see (6) b.
c. Log in to domain from Laptop
12. Ping server from Laptop-run cmd (Eg. ping zec.edu or ping (ip of the server)
13. Install And share Printer on Server
a. Install the printer driver on the server and on the client pc (note: you will be
asked to connect the printer to the computer in order to finish the
installation)

b. Share the printer from the server- go to devices and printer-right click on the
printer-properties-share this printer-check list directory and Ok.
