4. PLACEMENT OF GAS CYLINDERS

For safety, it is recommended that the cylinders be placed outdoors. Select a location
for the cylinders which satisfies the following conditions:
a. Not exposed to heat sources such as direct sunlight, furnaces, and heaters: Always keep the
cylinders at a temperature below 40C.
b. Away from spark boards such as switchboards, ground wires, and high voltage power sources.
c. Away from flammable materials such as oil, gasoline, and organic solvents.
d. Sufficiently ventilated
e. If outdoors, not exposed to wind and rain
5. GAS PIPING
If cylinders are placed outdoors, piping must be performed separately within 5meter of the instrument.
In this case be sure to follow the precautionary measures listed below.
a. Use stainless steel pipe for piping. Do not use pipes that contain over 62% copper for
acetylene piping.
b. Ensure that the pipe diameters are not too small to supply gas at the pressure indicated above in
point . A pipe diameter of at least 7mm will be sufficient.
c. Place drain separator after Air cylinder or Air compressor. If a sufficiently dry air supply source
is used, a drain separator is unnecessary.
d. Provide hose nipple with outside diameter of 8.4 to 8.9mm to gas lines so that provided gas
supply hose can be connected to the end of the gas piping.
e. There must be a heated type gas regulator for N2O cylinder for use of high
temperature burner. Also recommended to have heated gas lines.

INSTALLATION SPACE :
a. Required bench space for spectrophotometer alone is approx. 1100W(additional 200mm if
autosampler purchased) x 750D mm(additional 300mm if autosampler purchased) x 600Hmm.
Height of the Duct from bench top should be approx. 1000 mm. Additional space will be
required to accommodate PC, Printer and any optional accessories if you have procured the
same.
b. Installation bench should be capable of supporting approximately 70kg. of gross
spectrophotometer weight (additional 24Kg if autosampler purchased). PC, Printer and any
other accessory will add to this weight.
c. Proper place should be provided for keeping Air compressor so that standard gas tubing given
with instrument can be used from compressor to AA-6300.

7. VENTILATION SYSTEM

Place a ventilation duct with a hood above the atomizer.

a) The hood, duct and ventilation fans used should all be made of metal.
b) A cooling fan of air capacity of about 600 1200 m3/h is appropriate. To much suction
force will cause the flame to flicker as well as create excessive noise. Placement of a
damper in the duct system is ideal for setting the optimum air flow.

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS :
a. Room should be dust free with an air-conditioner of sufficient capacity recommended to
maintain temperature between 10oC to 35oC and operating relative humidity between 20% to
80%.

9. PRECAUTIONS :
Installation should be in a non corrosive and Dust free atmosphere.
a) Room should be Sufficiently Ventilated.
b) The equipment should not be exposed to direct sunlight, direct blow from an air conditioner or
high temperatures.
c) The equipment should not be installed in the vicinity of strong and continuous vibrations or near
electrical units generating intense electric / magnetic fields and high frequency power
d) Ambient temperature fluctuations during operations should be minimum.
10. LAMP REQUIRMENTS:
Any Hollow Cathode Lamp required for your analysis.
11. Standard Stock solutions requirement:
Standard Stock solutions for your elements should be of MERCK or Sigma Aldrich make of
1000ppm and they are to be procured from your side.
All necessary accessories for the dilution of above standards and sample preparations are to be kept
ready from your side.
