BMC Narrative

Skilled unemployed/underemployed and jobless OFWs individuals with skills not regularly needed by
common workplaces or have scanty vacancies (i.e. events organizing, food and beverage). Only ~60% of vocationalcourse graduates can get a contract upon completion of training and just about ~40% are able to renew another
contract after their first. Eventually, they enter jobs not within their capacity and accept significantly lower income
and rust away skills they already perform well. Discriminated individuals many jobs in many companies, big and
small, require medical check-ups that weed out, in their terms, unfit individuals for having illnesses that mostly
do not affect work performance. While some are able to work, the anxiety and/or trauma of discrimination pulls
away, in many cases, an apt candidate to a job she can do well. Urban Poor there are 72 registered social
enterprises in the Philippines that focus on fisheries, agriculture, craftsmanship and etc, but none of them are for
the urban poor capacity building and economic opportunity. They remain one of the biggest component of our
country and by empowering them, we empower the people whos in business to meet with their needs and wants.
Full-time-incapable financially-challenged single mother with a sick child; capable old-adult, but low in energy;
and part-time students (and their permutations) are stories not uncommon to us. They are capable, but they are
restricted by their circumstances. But that doesnt mean they shouldnt have opportunities to better their lives.
Busy/unaware individuals professionals, multiple-jobs who needs something done right then and there (i.e.
cooking, repair, cleaning, babysit) but knows no one place to fulfill their requests. We bring the workers where
they need to be. Industries with occasional needs plumbing, elimination of pests and translators (to name a
few) are jobs not all companies will have in the roster.

Customer Relationships
Community of contractors they are the core of the business and we want to make relationships personal,
transparent and trust-driven. Co-participants in empowerment we want our clients to be our helpers in moving
the economy digitally not because they are given convenience, but because they are part of the solution. We also
verify what they need and send our personnel to do the job. We provide insurances to both customer and client
through accreditation to provide safety.

Channels
[Contractors] Training agencies we will use the same facilities and same pool to make them aware of the new
opportunities available to them: remote jobs and on-demand home-services where they can use their skills. Social
media Filipinos are generally tech-savvy and can be found equally online as they are offline. Good reviews and an
impressive branding will make them want to try an opportunity they all could greatly benefit from. App store goto-place to check all sorts of utilities one can use on his smartphone. [Clients] Free-trial invitations Nothing
ventured, nothing gained. In order for individuals to see how Empleo works, we begin with the integration phase
where clients can see how powerful using our service is for their business/life. We also have the website that
functions as an information hub and notification center (work orders, etc).

Value Proposition
Using our platform, contractors not just get more avenues to practice what they know, but also receive more
financial reward as they scale their usage. Base pay on Empleo more than triples minimum wage salary, making
families not consider/consider less sending a member abroad for financial gains. The problem with most
freelancing-niche markets is that the experienced only gets more experienced, leaving little opportunity for new
entrants. Through our platform, we juggle all our members and make sure nobody is left behind in terms of
endorsements. We increase productivity by letting the clients focus on the more important tasks and leave the
rest to the Empleo contractors. Through our logistics arm, we get people where they need to be, in groups, to
decrease vehicles on the road consequently, traffic and pollution. Through our industrial partners, we give new

commercial use to what is already considered trash. We also improve internet literacy, for better online
presence, in the process.

Key Activities
Empleo fosters a platform and network to market skills and connect them to customers who need them. Empleo
trains contractors and market them either for on-demand service or remote jobs based on interests and skills.
Clients are customers who need something done either from home or in their home, both served well by the app.
Some clients are industrial partners that additionally provide reusable wastes that will be sold to companies who
could use these alternative raw materials.

Key Resources
First, we need engineers and designers to create and maintain the system (us). We need space to train and get
contractors on-board. Agencies in the Philippines, while many, are far and few in between so it is vital to have the
financial resources to talk to people who can make decisions and compel them through the demonstration of the
potential of the technology. Other problems were solving are traffic and pollution and it will not happen without
the units of the logistics that are the transportation mechanisms. The vehicles orbit agencies areas and pick up
and drop off passenger-contractors along the way. Lastly, we need leads from surveys to jumpstart our roster of
clients.

Key Partners
TESDA/Vocational Schools we will bein fact, already areinto the authority where skills are already being
taught for free. Computer Shops and PISONet we do not want to reinvent the wheel and we intend to make use
of whats already there. Due to the booming smartphone industry, we want to give these businesses something
new to look forward to, in exchange for accommodating and providing discounts to contractors who need
workstations to perform remote tasks. MSMEs we will provide them manpower for seasonal jobs, in exchange
for remuneration and collection of wastes that are usable as, to name a few, toxin absorbents (mango pits; farms);
energy source and ointment (castor oils; plantations); and antipollutant materials (onion skin; restaurants), which
can be used by other industries as alternative raw materials. Private vehicle services this enables us to transport
home-service contractors and transport reusable trash in an efficient manner, decreasing vehicles (and pollution)
on the road.

Cost Structure
Empleo is cost-driven because we offer lean cost structure, low-price required to implement value proposition,
automation and wide-scale networking and outsourcing between clients and contractors. Our cost is mostly driven
by the implementation already as we our staff is technically competent to eliminate costs required to build and
design the system. Fixed costs include salaries, server costs, transportation fees) and others include incentives,
insurances and marketing.

Revenue Streams
Clients are willing to pay for the convenience (as service charge and subscription fee) while the contractors for the
link-ups and for endorsements (commissions or usage fees and not actual upfront payment). Payments are made
through credit card for the security of both parties and to augment the capabilities [to avail the service] of paying
customers. Empleo also earns from the introduction of raw materials (collected as trash) to industries who could
still make use of them.
