Course description

The course coversintroduction to basics of power electronic devices,

switch mode operation, operation and analysis of switching circuits under
steady-stateconditionsand converter circuits including AC-DC, DC-DC,
DC-AC and AC-AC conversion. The applications of power electronic
circuits in power systems, grid connected wind energy conversion systems,
solar photovoltaic systems will also be introduced.

Scope and objective

1. To learn about power electronic power electronic devices and circuits.

2. To learn about switch realization using semi-conductor devices.
3. To learn about methods of steady state analysis of power electronic
circuits.
4. To learn about industrial applications of power electronic circuits.
