him to stand up an IIMG. He wanted to let you know, that they will
activate the IIMG tomorrow f0r,an "ori~J1tation" on the hurricane, for the p%%rpose of
looking at potential "LongRange Strategic ~conomic Impacts" if there is catastrophic
flooding in and around New Orleans.

Just a quick update since our phone conversation this evehing..
We just.spoke with our first rep on the ground in New O~leans who did a h~!~ tour and
describes a 200 yard coliapse of the ~evy on the south side of the lake which is
accou!iting for much of the additional f!ooding. While Significant, this was the only
apparent collapse viewed. ,
He reiterates slgnificaht 109istical ~hallenges to the ~bvement of teams and commodities
by gr0undvia east Side of New Orleans. Says ndr~h iS c6mpromised a~ Well, essentially
leaving western.a~=one Of few potential options.
Describes approximately 60 percent of-the city as under water ’to some degree.
Says a seven mile’.stretch of the twin span along II0 to Slidel is I00 percent compromised
with many..sections in need of.repair. .
Saw i oil tanker ~ aground and’understands ~rom coast guard that two more may ha~e as
well. .’
We uhdersta~d that a robust search and rescue is un~er~ay in new orleans~and through the
evening asing night vision equipment. Reports of many successf~l rescues by air from top:

sector help with housing and transportation for. the vlctims’of Hurricane Katrina.
We. have reached Out to The Rea! Estate R0undtable and. directly to many of its’memSer
org:anizations such’as the International Council of Shopping Centers, the National Realtors
’Association, the National Hote! and Lodging Association and oth~rs. W~ have beer ~n direct
contact withthe ~ouisiana’RealtorsAssociation who has been very helpful. We have
informed these groups of the housing needs due to the effects’of Kattina.and hav~ asked to
be on stindby to assist once’theneeds have been determined. We have received very
positive feedback f~om all the~#,[.g~Oups and we await your.direction on the damage
assesment so-we can acdurately.~pinpoint for th&m where the needs are.
