electrical grades

Apart from the above mentioned example, Tata Steel R&D Continuous
Surface Improvement team works constantly, using their wide-ranging
expertise to identify potential issues, root causes and continuously improve

technological advancement. They can be considered to be a great example
of managing various technologies.

In our study of Tata Steel for this project, we will try to understand different
aspects of Management of Technologies (MoT). As our objective, we have
decided to find out the answers for following questions-

Group-9

1. What are the effects of technology on the financial aspects of the

business?
2. What all parameters do they consider while selecting a technology for
their project?
3. Who are the competitors of Tata Steel?? Does technology provide a
competitive edge to the company and if so, how?
4. How is technology managed in the company? Do they use some
specific tools for the same?
Approach:
We will try to approach officials from Tata Steel and get their insights on
implementation of technology in Tata Steel. Their experience will give us the
details of practical implementation of technology and we will be able to
understand the actual role of technology i.e. how it is being used as a
process enabler and how as a process innovator or if they use technology in
some other role as well.
Apart from this, we will also go for secondary research using already
available data to support the findings of primary research. The databases like
CMIE, Capitaline etc. will be used for this analysis.

Financial and competitors benchmarking:

We have compiled the financial figures of Tata Steel which looks like:
