Infocomm Singapore is Overall Winner at APICTA Awards 2008


Singapore, 19 November 2008 – Singapore infocomm Technology Federation (SiTF) submitted 20
nominations from 16 companies to compete at this year’s Asia Pacific ICT Alliance (APICTA) Awards held
in Jakarta, Indonesia. Out of the 126 nominations received for the 16 categories from 11 member-
economies, APICTA Team Singapore performed outstandingly well, bagging – 3 Winner and 6 Merit
Awards.

The nine Singapore companies were presented the APICTA Awards, the highest accolade for infocomm
innovation in Asia Pacific for its recognition in innovative Research & Development, e-Learning, e-Inclusion
& e-Community, Security Applications, e-Logistic & Supply Chain Management, Communications
Applications, and Secondary Student project. The companies received the awards from H.E. Jusuf Kalla,
Vice President of Indonesia, at the gala dinner and award ceremony held at the Bapindo Plaza on 15
November 2008.

APICTA Awards is a prominent Asia Pacific Information and Communications Technology (ICT) event
hosted by member-economies annually. This annual event provides a platform for recognising innovators
and entrepreneurs in the ICT sectors. It also allows participants the opportunity to benchmark their
products and innovations with regional ICT companies. It further spurs economic and trade relations,
technology transfers, business matching opportunities, and provides a compelling show case for new and
innovative ICT products and innovations in the Asia Pacific region..

year” said Mr Goh Chin Teck, SiTF Organising Chairman for Infocomm Singapore Awards & APICTA
Singapore. He also added “This year’s nominations truly reflect Singapore infocomm industry’s resilience
and sustainable innovation quotient as it plays its part in helping Singapore ride out the current market
challenges. I am very proud of their hard work and achievements, and I am sure that they will be an
inspiration to many.”

Ms Tan Yen Yen, Chairman of SiTF also shared that “The companies have demonstrated their talent,
commitment and competency to participate in the international arena. We are confident the winners of
APICTA 2008 will continue to stretch their creativity and push beyond boundaries to produce innovations to
compete effectively in the global marketplace.”

FACT SHEET – APICTA AWARDS

APICTA is a prominent annual Asia Pacific Information and Communications Technology (ICT) event since
2001. It provides a platform for innovators and entrepreneurs in the ICT sectors to benchmark their
products with each other. The aims are to stimulate economic and trade relations, technology transfer,
business matching opportunities and as showcase for invention and creation of ICT innovators and
entrepreneurs both individual or corporation in Asia & Pacific, and increase community awareness through
an internationally recognised Awards event organised with regional co-operation. Furthermore, it is to
recognise outstanding entries for strategic investment.

Objectives of APICTA
