MSD CASE STUDY


Guidelines applicable for MSD CASE STUDY of 6th semester:

a) Each trainee individually shall identify a topic for MSD Case Study during
his/her 6th semester related to mechatronics applications.
b) The Course in charge / Section In charge shall
Shall approve the Case Study
with verified design, schematics, bill of
material, assembly drawings and step wise approach.
Monitor the trainees during their Case Study preparation on weekly basis
Facilitate with the required materials
Arrange for Intermediate and final evaluation as per the guidelines given
further.
c) Each Trainee shall :

submit the Case Study


with
design, schematics, bill of material,
assembly drawings and step wise approach to the Course in charge /
Section In charge.

Prepare a power point presentation on the Case Study for the


Intermediate as well as for final evaluation.

Guidelines for evaluation of MSD Case Study


There will be only one intermediate evaluation and Final Evaluation for
MSD Case Study
1.2.1. Intermediate evaluation of MSD Case Study :

One Intermediate evaluations shall be conducted for the MSD Case Study
as follows :and the Sessional (30 marks) shall be arrived upon as per
the below procedure.
(a). Intermediate Test for 1Hr. is conducted
(b). Each trainee has to submit a case study report ( of about 15 to 20
pages)
(c). Each Trainee has to give power point presentation on the case study for
10 Mins.
(d). Viva shall be conducted.

II. End semester exam. shall be conducted as follows


Part A. Written test (common question paper): 30 minutes- 20 marks
(10 Min to Pass)
This shall be conducted as per the time table
common to all centres,
based on the syllabus coverage of the theory syllabus for MSD Case Study
( subject code CP15-06-04)
Part B. Case study writing and Preparation of Presentation.
Total time for Part -B 1Hr.30 minutes- 50 marks
Part B. shall be conducted at the convenient timing of the individual
centre during the final semester common exam period.
Preparation of Presentation should be done with Power point within the 1 hr.
30 min allotted for Part - B.
Individual Presentation and Viva - 10 mnts. Allotted for each trainee.

The individual centre has to keep one copy of the case study report ( hard copy and
soft copy) and soft copy of the power point presentation of each trainee for reference.
1.2.2. GUIDELINES FOR PREPARING THE MSD CASE STUDY REPORT :

a.

The Case study report is an important document that reflects the


quality of the work.
Its content should be organized under the following
headings.

Titles page: This page contains title of the Case study , its nature
and area of application and names of the guides.
c.
Acknowledgement
d.
Introduction : Reason for selection of the subject, broad outline with
specifications and organizations of the report.
e.
System design : Block diagram level design of the
system
parameter and their inter relationship.

work should be discussed in respect of the following:
