As per Govt of India the number of seats should be 1120, but in

Nagpur the households dont prefer community toilets as it is a
hassle for everyone over the maintenance part.
Upon discussion with many families, it can be clearly visible that
the popularity is very low for CTs in slums.
NMC aims at providing in priority individuals latrines or Sulabh
type model rather than community toilets. Community toilets are
therefore being demolished, while individual toilets are built (with
funds of ward members), and Sulabh model toilets (16 to 20
seats) are planned to be constructed at strategic locations
(markets, commercial establishments, bus stations etc.). Urinals
are also lacking across the city, so that High Court has given
directives for construction urinals for the floating population. 50%
of old communities toilets (are planned to be reconstructed.

Public toilets (PT)

Toilet mainly for the floating population , at chowks, crowded
areas, markets, commercial establishments etc where usage is by
the floating population visiting that area. There are at present 60
public toilets run by Sulabh Agency in Nagpur.
Funding was 100% through PPP mode but as IHHT are preffered
over CTs and Cts are not entertained. So, the funding of CT will
now be used for construction of PT.
For constructing a unit on an average the total cost comes to Rs
1.5 Lakh.
As per Govt of India, the total number of public toilets should be
5% of floating population.
Floating population of Nagpur is expected to be around 1.2 Lakh.
It would require around 1600 seats as per Govt Guidelines.
