Class, before we proceed with the lesson, I
want you to meet first my three friends.

-er or est is added to one syllable


adjective while more/less or most/least is
added to other adjective.

What are the degrees of comparison?
How are the comparative and superlative
degrees formed in one-syllable adjective?

How about those words with two or more


syllables?

They will always argue.

The degrees of comparison are adjective,
comparative and superlative.
Adjectives with one syllable form their
comparative degree by adding er, for the
superlative degree, -est is added.
Adjectives with two or more syllables form
their comparative degree by adding more,
for the superlative degree, most is added.
