We just received a letter from Rodger asking that we

pray for the following things:

"

1. Pray for the opening of La Estrella. The new young leader, whose name is
Augustine, is going to be taking on his first full time pastorate. The leaders
of the church are still developing and need our prayers as well since they are

mostly young men.

Be praying for the members as well.

country, but we've had real success even with drug addicts and alcoholics.
Pray for the class that Linda has been teaching at La Feria. This church has
been a troubled church and the problems reach all the way to the leadership.
Be praying that the Lord will continue to work in the lives of these leaders.
Six months ago everyone thought the church would die but now, mostly through

the efforts of Linda, they seem to be in a revival.

the first one. She is president of tho

her that Linda got involved in the work at La Feria..She had some problems that
in part at least were from her surroundings.
So she is staying with us for
the moment. She has been a Christian for i)out two years, but has grown the
past 8 weeks more than in the whole two years before. The second girl is
named Mireya. She has a fine personality and a real sweet disposition, unfor
tunately the devil got there first, and she is in her ninth month of preg
nancy.

Be praying for her.

Pray for Juan Carlos and Pablo they both just lost their jobs and are a bit
depressed. Juan was a drug addict and a street gang member. I thought his
mind had been destroyed by drugs at first, but a little at a time he has been
healed to the point that now except for a stutter, he is a brighter than nor

mal person. His conversion is a great encouragement.

Enrique, their^new

associate minister at Pudahuel, will need your prayers too.

It is his

first

full time ministry.

Be praying for the church at Curacavi. I have been trying to help it for some
time now. Their minister just left them to work with a singing trio. The
trios name is Solomon and even by States standards they are good. They've

found a man to help at the church part time, his name is Guillermo.

(The

church has never been able to pay even half a wage).

Pray as well for the new work I'm forming in Pablo VI.
workers are Elias
Patino and Miguel Munoz. I've helped them start a fruit stand to give them an
income. Income for our preachers is a problem even in the richest churches and
almost all of them have to work. I am now working on several similar projects.

pay. Then realizing that he has to 'get some outside income and trying
but not being able to find a job. So once I've helped them to be able
even in a very sacrificial manner they go out and work their hearts

So I'd like your prayers for these cottage industries as well.

Pray for our personal needs and for funds for the mission to carry on work and
evangelistic programs. I'd also appreciate your prayers for our health. We
seem to walk a very fine line in regards to health and have found that prayers

- are one of our best defenses. Also pray for literature we use^ especially
Bibles.

The Bible Society has a real good price, but I'd still like to buy a

lot more than I've been able to.

Please remember these requests in your daily prayers and be in church Sunday to
write a personal note of encouragement to the Prong family.
