In todays application, passwords should not be stored as clear text. It should be stored in an encrypted or
hashed format. Between the two(hashed and encrypted) hashing is more secure for it uses a one way
function and it is very difficult to retrieve the original string especially if a salt is applied to the hash before
storing it. Even site or database administrators with access to the code or the data in the database will have
difficulty in generating the original password from its hashed format.
