SLABS Engineering Private Limited
Design of Modular Housing using Precast Technology (May-July 2015)
Got exposure to multi-storey building project using precast technology. Analysed and designed
precast column, beam, wall panel, hollow core slab and connection according to IS 456, BS 8110
and SP 65. Analysed and designed building for structural integrity and deflection criteria. Developed
cost effective sunshade for precast buildings. Checked shop and erection drawings with respect to
architecture and MEP drawings. Studied precast element's delivery, handling and storage and
implemented in the precast general notes.
PROJECTS

Transportation Infrastructure Rejuvenation Strategies for Roorkee (July 2015 - Till date)
This project aims at developing the existing transportation infrastructure of the city. This would
involve surveying the entire region using modern tools and techniques. Also Geo-technical
exploration and testing of the entire region is to be done. Re-modelling of the Roorkee bus terminal
and a bridge is to be designed over Ganga Canal. Noise and Air Pollution studies will also be done.
A detailed project report is to be prepared so as to project Roorkee as a prospective Smart City.

FRP Laminated Sandwich Panels for Bridge of Marine Structures (Nov 2013 - Apr 2014)
Involved in FRP laminated sandwich panels development for their implementations in bridges and
walkways for marine applications based on theoretical and experimental works. Different geometrical
configurations of sandwich panels were created by using abaqus software to obtain best
configuration. Lab experiments were carried out to validate the theoretical results. Guidelines were
formulated for the design and construction of FRP laminated sandwich bridges and walkways for
marine applications in India.

Behavior of Concrete Filled Steel Tubular Sections Under Compression (04 May - 14 June
2014)
Studied concrete and steel interaction, confinement and failure mode under the compression load.
Analysed the behavior of double skin concrete filled pipes. To predict the performance of the pipes, a
finite element analysis was conducted using abaqus. Experimental tests were carried out to validate
the theoretical results. The results were plotted.

Analysis and Design of a Multi-Storey Building (July 2015 - Till date)
Analysed a multi-storey building using STAAD Pro. Designed building using minimum possible
columns in the parking area. Prepared a detailed Structural report of all the elements.

Surveying Camp (Nov - Dec 2014)
Led a nine member team to perform the survey work of a village near Chandighat (Haridwar). The
project was conducted using all the modern day surveying tools and techniques. Detailed map of the
entire area was prepared.

Cost Effective Design of an Aircraft Hangar (2015)
This national level competition for best innovative structural steel design organized by INSDAG.
Analysed and designed aircraft hangar using SAP software for dead, live, wind and seismic loads
according to IS 875. Submitted detailed structural drawings and report.
Coordinator of Spotlight Event Cognizance'15 (2015)
Organized innovative building making competition during the Cognizance - Annual Technical Festival
of IIT Roorkee. The work involved idea generation and successful completion of the event including
all the aspects of management skills, technical knowledge and team behaviour.
Spotlight Event Cognizance' 14 (2014)
Participated in bridge making competition in which various concepts of truss and other structural
elements were analysed and a strong and stable bridge was designed with the help of ice-cream
sticks.
