INTRODUCTION
I'm often asked and probably wondered what career options that fit me. Career that can make me
successful in this world and in the hereafter. What kind of career can give me the blessing in time
and salary. Actually, before I set foot in the university, my chosen career is to become a teacher.
Why I want to be a teacher? Are big salary? Surely not. It is not easy to be a teacher. Official
working time as a teacher for extra classes, extra-curricular activities, make examination
questions, check the examination answer paper and make teaching plans took actually more than
8 hours of working time. Guru is a very noble profession. For that reason I wanted to become a
teacher.

WORK CONDITIONS
Teaching is done in different conditions according to the places and what subject I am going to
teach. Normally, teachers work either in dry, hot or noisy conditions. I am going to work indoors
in any kind of weather and of course, it is done in a safe condition. As a teacher, I do not have to
travel to different location every day, just different classes of students.
Teachers get paid monthly. I have to work at least six to eight hours per day. It usually starts at
7:30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. In a year, holidays for teachers are just the same as the students get.
Sometimes, I have to work overtime just in case to check the exam papers or for any school
activities that I have to handle. At school, of course they got canteen facilities but I do not get
any allowance for foods. I also get work place or table in the staff room just for my own use. I
can put all my things and students books there. The students are also allowed to see me whenever
they feel to.

IMPLICATION FOR LIFESTYLE

My standard of living will be affected because the amount of salary I got is not too big. But I still
have time to spend with my family as I got many holidays. I will live in an ordinary residential
area. If I spent more time to further my studies, I can get the Master or PHD. It will help me to
increase my salary. So, I can be a teacher in a higher position of authority.
Being a teacher is such an honor because I can give knowledge to my students and also my
generation in my own country. I also can spread positive vibes and moral values to them. Every
teacher is respected by the community. For everyone, work as a teacher is a very noble job.
If only I had to travel away, it will not affect my home life although I have family. Why?
Because teachers barely have to travel anywhere except for special courses which only takes a
short period of time.
As being a teacher got holidays just as much as student get, of course I would be able to continue
all my hobbies and sports activities.

NATURE OF THE WORK

Teachers teach the students in the class, laboratory for science subjects or in the workshop. I will
come to school early in the morning and punch my cards at the office. Then I go to staff room
and get my stuffs for teaching. Get into the class and starts teaching until the end of my period of
time. This cycle goes over and over again. If I have no class at certain period, I can go to eat and
rest for a while. After the school hours, I will go home and do the house chores then rest. This is
my typical day like.
I have to carry my things for learning activities to the classes. But some students are kind so they
would help me carry my things. I will use tools, instruments or computers to make my teaching
methods can be accepted efficiently by students.
As a teacher, I do not have to travel except for class trip, courses or as accompanying teacher to
any school events.
I will have to work with people. They are my students and also all the teachers. If I be an ICTL
teacher, then I have to work with computers. I will be teaching inside the class, for sure. I will
work alone in the class but in the whole school, I will be as a part of teacher team.

NEED BY SOCIETY AND COMMUNITY

Teachers are needed by society and community. This is because, without teacher, we are nothing.
Society really respects teachers. Moreover, if their children are taught by a teacher, they will be
very kind to the teacher.
Teachers are needed by community because of the increasing of population in Malaysia.
Government establishes more schools and this leads to lack of teachers. So, I will be the part of
teachers that help the government to establish the new schools.

ENTRY, TRAINING AND PROSPECTS

To be a teacher, I must pass with excellent and honor in Bahasa Melayu, History and one more
any other subject. I also cant fail in English subject. I must at least have bachelor degree or
equivalent to it from IPTA or IPTS in own country or oversea.
Further study is not compulsory to all. If we want, then we can have it. It can help us to get into
another higher platform. Employee who wants to further study has to pay by his own.

RELATED OCCUPATIONS
If I could get this job, I would further my studies until PHD to get the Dr title so that I could be a
lecturer.
Lecturer required the same ability and other personal qualities. But being a lecturer, I have to
deal with older people such as teenages, adult and also some old folks.

SUCCESFUL PERSONAL ATTRIBUTION

In order to be a teacher, I already have some special qualities in my own self. A teacher should be
a warm person and sociable. I am a very friendly and can make bunch of friends easily at a new
place. In this case, I can interact with students and close to them. This way will help them in
their learning progress.
Teachers must have a high self-esteem as they need to talk in front of the whole class and teach
students. I have a good self confidence to stand and talk in front.
I also have a good communication skill. This will help me to deal with students and my staff
mates. When having a good communication skill, it will help me to communicate with students
in class better. This will help them to learn faster and better as they can communicate with me
easily.

CONCLUSION
Alhamdulillah, thanks to the Illahi, by His grace, I can finally prepare this folio career. Overall,
this folio has helped me in choosing careers and courses relevant and coincides with my
personality.
In addition, this task also give a boost to me to pursue my ambitions which I have always
dreamed of since childhood so I wish I would managed to get it.
Therefore, I will make sure I work hard to pass SPM with flying colours to widen my chance to
continue my studies in college.
In the other hand, , this task has also opened my eyes to prepare myself suits the requirements of
eligibility to university to pursue my dreams in college and beyond achieving my goals.
