IDENTITY
Providence Church is a community of people being
transformed by the Gospel news about Jesus - his
life, death and resurrection.

We desire to bring glory to Jesus in our life

together, in sharing the Gospel news, and in
living for the good of the city.

We give thanks to God as we come to the
close of our first year at Providence Church.
The Lord Jesus is building his church and it’s
a joy to be a part of and to watch.

As a church we long to see the city of Perth transformed by the

gospel of Jesus Christ. We seek to live as communities of light, small
outposts of Jesus’ kingdom. And we are beginning to see that
happen, if in small ways.

The 2010 Providence Church budget has four key components:

pastoral staff, administration staff, ministry infrastructure and growth
projects. The single largest component of the budget is the
employment of Nigel as Lead Pastor 2 days per week. To assist
Nigel focus on evangelism, teaching and training, two part-time
administrative positions are also included (book-keeper and
administrator). In total 15% of the Providence Budget is set aside for
overseas mission support and local church planting. This reflects our
commitment to look outside of ourselves and our own needs to what
God is doing all around this city and his world.

As we move forward in 2010, we will be putting into practice our

philosophy of ministry in light of Jesus: gospel telling, gospel
community and gospel deeds. We are still learning, but the promise
of Jesus rings in our ears that the ‘harvest is plentiful but the workers
are few’ (Matthew 9:37-38). We live in hope and expectation that
God will fulfil for all of us our every good purpose prompted by faith
(2 Thessalonians 1:11).

As we do this our prayer is that God will be at work to multiply

disciples, multiply mature leaders and multiply churches. In short, to
build his church.
