BASIX Unit Office Inaugurated in Balliguda

As a District Implementing Agency, BASIX started its 2nd Unit Office at Balliguda on 8th April
2010 in Kandhamal district. BASIX is rendering its humble services to the poor common
people of Kandhamal district in order to facilitate the e-governance program in the district. It
is operating here through BSFL (Bhartiya Samruddhi Finance Limited), which is a part of
BASIX meant for Financial Support and Technical Assistance.

Under the National e-Governance Program (NEGP), the Central Govt. have to set up
Common Service Centers (CSC) in each and every Gram Panchayats of the country. They
are commonly known as “JANASEVA KENDRA”. In these CSCs, the common man can
access various e-governance programs run by the government, such as any one can apply
for Death/Birth Certificates, Pay Utility Bills, Pay different taxes for transport, fixation of date &
time for driver’s learning license and other online govt. facilities. In Odisha three
Implementing Agencies are working to setup the CSCs all over Odisha in 30 districts. They
are BASIX, SREI SAHAJ & ZOOM. BASIX took the charge of establishing the CSCs in
Kandhamal, Ganjam, Gajapati & Rayagada districts. In Kandhamal district 158 CSCs to be
established by BASIX and the Head Office started in Phulbani, but due to decentralize and
speedy setup BASIX started its 2nd Unit Office at Balliguda. The Balliguda Unit Office will
monitor 8 blocks namely Balliguda, Bamunigam, Tumudibandh, Koragarh, K. Nuagam,
Raikia, Simonbadi & Daringbadi.

Beside the training to the selected VLE (Village Level Entrepreneur) BASIX promotes the
livelihoods of the common people through its branch BSFL. BSFL promotes a large
number of sustainable livelihoods, including for the rural poor and women through the
provision of financial support and technical assistance in an integrated manner.
BASIX will strive to yield a competitive rate of return to its investors so as to be able to
access mainstream capital and human resources on a continues basis. The strategy of
the company is known as Livelihood Traid consisting Institutional Development
Services (IDS), Livelihood Financial Services (LFS) and Agriculture Business Servises
(AgBDS)

At the inauguration of the 2nd Unit Office at Balliguda, Mr. Kanhua Charan Sahu, personnel,
Utakal Gramya Bank, Balliguda Branch inaugurated the office by cutting the ribbon also
presented Mr. Anil, Vetenary Officer, Balliguda and all the staff of BAISX, Balliguda Unit. The
Unit Head Mr. Bipin described the mission and vision of BASIX in short to all the members
present there. Mr. Ravi Kumar, Field Manager, BASIX described the success story of BASIX
on the occasion.
