Your new 8442 unit is among the finest precision digital computing scales available. It is simple to use
and requires minimum maintenance. These scales come form a proud tradition that has made METTLER

Please read these instructions carefully. You will find operating the unit is very simple. In the unlikely

your profits and your customers. Please handle your scale as you would any fine electronic equipment.

Maintenance
Replacing the thermal paper roll
Open the door of printer housing on the right side

of the scale,pull out printer.
Remove the empty reel.
Press down the green lever.
The print head (A) flips out of his housing.
Insert the new thermal paper roll in accordance
with the drawing.
The extremity of the paper being on the left side
of the roll.
Pull out the paper untill correct tension is
reached.
Push back the print head until it clicks.
Tear off the paper that sticks out.
Close the weighing plate.
Cleaning the print head
Switch off the scale.

open the door of printer holder on the right side of
the scale.
pull out the printer.
Press down the green lever.
The print head (A) flips out of his housing.
Take off the cap from the cleaning pen.
Clean the print head with the moist tip of the pen.
Push back the print head until it clicks.
Put on the cap of the cleaning pen.
Pull back the printer,close the door.
Switch on the scale.
Use only the cleaning pen,for cleaning the print head.

The cleaning pen be enclosed with the scale.
Other cleaning materials will destroy the print head.

Error Message
Listed below are the possible error codes are listed. When an error code appears, the scale should
be switched off and on. In many cases the error will disappear.
There are 3 different kinds of error messages:
Error Status 1:
Warning! After the warning the scale can still be used.
Error Status 2:
Press "CODE" key. Change to one of the CODE menu. Back to normal operation mode.
Error Status 3:
Press "CODE" key and enter SERVICE MODE, after returning to normal operation mode the scale will
perform RESET.

INTRODUCCION
Su nueva unidad 8442 se encuentra entre las bsculas digitales calculadoras de precisin ms finas
disponibles. Su uso es sencillo y requiere un mantenimiento mnimo. Estas bsculas provienen de la gran
tradicin que ha convertido a METTLER TOLEDO en un smbolo mundial de la ms alta calidad en equipos
de pesaje de precisin.
Por favor lea estas instrucciones cuidadosamente. Usted notar que el funcionamiento de la unidad es muy
sencillo. En el caso poco probable de que tenga dificultades, contacte su OFICINA AUTORIZADA DE SERVICIO
DE METTLER TOLEDO que se encuentra en las paginas amarillas de su directorio telefnico.

Usando la tecla del vendedor, empiece la impresin de la etiqueta (si se selecciona "manual") o
cause la impresin de la etiqueta variando el peso (si se selecciona "auto).

Imprima un lote de etiquetas de preempaque para el artculo por Conteo PLU
Esta funcin puede estar en modo de preempaque solamente; est en efecto bajo el estado de impresin
automtica, y solo para los artculos por Conteo PLU.

Entre al modo de ventas grandes
Despus de entrar en el modo de venta grande, el operado debe primero entrar el PLU recuperado si el
parmetro del precio debe entrarse por medio de la tecla que ha sido configurada. Luego pulse la tecla
SPANISH
, entre el peso de la venta grande y registre esta transaccin. Si se requiere que el precio se introduzca
temporalmente, el operador debe primero pulsar la tecla , luego entrar el precio temporal, luego pulsar
de nuevo la tecla , introducir el peso de la venta grande y registrar esta transaccin al final.

Mantenimiento
Reemplazar el rollo de papel trmico
Abra la puerta del encapsulado de la impresora

al lado derecho de la bscula, saque la
impresora.
Retire el rollo vaco.
Empuje hacia abajo la palanca verde.
La cabeza de la impresora (A) se desencaja de su
encapsulado.
Inserte el nuevo papel trmico segn el
procedimiento que corresponde al esquema.
La extremidad del papel debe quedar al lado
izquierdo del rollo.
Empuje el papel hacia fuera hasta que la tensin
correcta se logre.
Presin de nuevo hacia adentro la cabeza
impresora hasta que encaje.
Arranque el papel que sobra.
Cierre la plataforma de pesaje.
Limpieza de la cabeza impresora
Apague la bscula.
Abra la puerta del soporte de la impresora al
lado derecho de la bscula
Saque la impresora.
Empuje hacia abajo la palanca verde.
la cabeza de la impresora (A) se desencaja de su
encapsulado.
Retire la tapa del lapicero de limpieza.
Limpie la cabeza de la impresora con la punta
hmeda del lapicero.
Presin de nuevo hacia adentro la cabeza
impresora hasta que encaje.
Coloque la tapa del lapicero de limpieza.
Coloque de nuevo la impresora, cierre la puerta.
Encienda la bscula.
Para limpiar la cabeza impresora use solamente
el lapicero de limpieza.
El lapicero de limpieza viene incluido con la bscula.
Otros materiales de limpieza causaran dao a la cabeza
impresora.

Mensajes de Error
A continuacin vemos los posibles cdigos de error listados. Cuando aparece un error, la bscula debe
apagarse y encenderse. En muchos casos, el error desaparece.
Hay 3 clases diferentes de mensajes de error:
Estado de Error 1:
Advertencia! Despus de la advertencia, la bscula aun puede seguir usndose
Estado de Error 2:
Pulse la tecla CODE. Cambie a uno de los mens del CODE. Regrese al modo de operacin normal.
Estado de Error 3:
Pulse la tecla CODE y entre en el MODO DE SERVICIO, despus de regresar al modo de operacin
normal, la bscula se REPROGRAMA.
