Mostofitspieceswerefoundin1939butitwas
forgottenformanyyearsasheadwasnotfound
andalsoduetoWorldWarII.
Between1997and1998,additionalpiecesofthe
sculpturewerediscoveredandtheheadwas
reassembledandrestored.
Thereisadebateaboutitsname,genderetcasnot
enoughhistoricevidenceofsuchbeingexistin
GermanyorEurope.
