Global Alliance publishes new study on public relations practice in

Pakistan
The growing Pakistani public relations industry in the spotlight in this new PR Country Landscape
study
Lugano, Switzerland, January 29, 2015 The Global Alliance for Public Relations and
Communication Management published today a new study on the state of public relations
in Pakistan. This 28th study is part of the PR Country Landscapes series, a popular
program that provides context for PR practice by summarizing a countrys political,
economic and cultural systems.
This newly published PR Country Landscape provides an overview of the current state of the
public relations industry in Pakistan, a country that in the past few years has been experiencing a
rapid growth in Internet usage and where modern communication technology is now widespread.
Despite the growing relevance of the communication profession, Pakistan is still without a formal
and comprehensive educational offer that adequately equips public relations practitioners. This can
be seen as a next and important step in the professions development in the country.
The PR Country Landscapes, one of the Global Alliances main projects, are designed to share
knowledge for the benefit of the international professional community says Anne Gregory, Global
Alliance Chair. We are pleased to publish this new study on Pakistan which is a major addition to
our collection and we thank the Council of PR Pakistan for their support and cooperation in this
project.
We are honoured to have Pakistans PR landscape to be accepted and published by an
international body like Global Alliance. It is a big achievement for us which reflects the flourishing
media and PR sector in Pakistan. The opportunity provided by Global Alliance will also open new
horizons for Pakistani PR & communication professionals to connect with the industry peers
globally said Hasan Anwer Zuberi, President of the Council of Public Relations Pakistan.
Anne Gregory expressed thanks to the authors of the report and to Dr. Judy VanSlyke Turk and
Mark Schumann for their leadership of the Global Alliances Landscapes project.
