Dear Sir/Maam,
I hold a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) degree from the Adventist
International Institute of Advanced Studies and Masters of Science in Computer Science
course credit from the University of the Philippines Los Banos. and I would like to apply
for the position of the Candidate (Promovendus) unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for
cadastral mapping offered by ITC, University of Twente. After completing this PhD
program, I
plan to continue my research in the field of network protocols and architectures. My goal
is to become a faculty member at a leading university and to investigate the
improvements that can be done in using UAVs to for mapping and other environmental
conservational application. This program willould help me to start my career as a
specialist in UAVs and theirits mapping applications.
I am very excited by the various application UAVs unveil in the various area of its
possible implementations, as they all importance resource developing countries like
Ghana can benefit from.
Because there is little done in areas of UAVs policies and mapping, I hope that soon I
willto soon bring my contribution in this area to help not only my country Ghana but
also the sub-region of Western Africa and beyond. I also believe that my initial interest
into UAVs as a hobbyist in conjunction withalong skills I accumulated duringin my MBA
will ould be essential to planning regulations and designing decision-making policies for
decision making.
Also in my MS program I took a minor in environmental science, and presented a study
on research on using digital aerial images for costal mapping application in the recent
ACRS conference held in Philippines.
The University of Twente distinguishesing itself through itsin inspiring and challenging
international and academic environment. The research level being international, the
environment is stimulating, and the projects are creative. They are all crucially
advantageous for research, and hence catch the attention of me.
From practical experience, and study, I have knowledge into about UAVss., Band also
being a graduate intern at the Philippines LiDAR2 project havse exposed me to various
mapping techniques, which I believe willyou be useful in my PhD studies.
In regard to my extracurricular activities, I enjoylike playing football, diving, flying UAVs
hobbyist and traveling. I appreciate the value of the perinsistence, ambition and team
spirit. I have learnt thate commitment is necessary for success as an individual and how
to work as a team member.
