Curse these oppressive bourgeoisie. The other day I was swimming in the
endless expanse of ocean that covers the world when Ulgen Tenger- the lord of the
upper world- Ordered me to swim to the bttom and bring up mud for Ulgen to lay
on. I was obviously not able to do such a monumental ask but they ignored my
please. When I failed that confounded Ulgen and his brother Erleg Khan- the lord of
the underworld- broke my legs so I couldnt walk! Then that brown noser Duck
offered to help and brought up enough land for Ulgen to be satisfied. I also
Witnessed an interesting occurrence after Ulgen had gone to sleep on the land.
Erleg tried to pull the land out from under Ulgen but that retch messed it all up and
just spread the land across the world! Now I only have a fraction of room to swim in
than what I used to. These gods are the worst!
The Evenki world structure comprises of the upper world, land of the gods,
middle world, land of man and nature spirits, and underworld, land of the dead.
This belief is also seen in mongol mythology. I found some reference that these tiers
are accessed via a clan tree for the upper world-(which is also seen in mongol
mythology with the core concepts seen in norse mythology) and bia a river for the
lower (all core myths and Mongolian mythology) This is similar to all the core myths.
In addition to this belief the concept that the first substance was water is held by all
the core mythos but the greeks. This seems to be the only myth of the five that
believes the earth we stand upon was made by waterfowl bringing mud up from the
bottom of the ocean-this is likely due to the Evenki peoples innate animism in their
religion, in addition to being much more obscure and scarce of details-likely due to
the Evenki being a shamanistic culture.
allowed him to see the humans' bodies he would give him a beautiful fur coat. The dog agreed, and was
given a shiny beautiful coat. Erleg Khan then spat on the bodies so that humans would have diseases and
not be immortal. When Ulgen returned he saw that the dog had fur and that the humans had been
damaged, so he punished the dog by making his coat smelly, taking away his voice, and by making the
dog follow humans in order to get its food.
