6. IMPLEMENTATION
6.1.

General

Non-segregated bus ducts are used for carrying energy.

6.2.

Equipment List

Electric driven tool (drilling machines, screw driving machines)

Welding equipment including welding gas
Cutting-off machines, grinding machines
Crane
Torque wrench

Galvanized spray

6.3.

Transport

Transportation of non-segregated bus ducts is made proper places to work in site. Crane will be
used and all necessary precaution matures will be taken. Provide crane and truck to
transportation of non-segregated bus ducts and accessories from lay down area to the field. Use
crane for lifting and carrying NSPB. When crane will be used according to 7.3. lifting operation.
It will be stayed suitable places, so it prevents to work and workers work safely.

6.4. Preparing Element Prior to Installation

6.3.1. Elements Welding
NSPB comply with the project requirements. Where welding of the NSPB is needed, it will be
performed by competent personnel. When welding will be made, welding area will be protected
with tent. Flammable things will be got rid of area. The working area has to be tidy up and floor
or platform has to be protected via fire prove blanket against sparks falling. NSPB weld will be
sprayed with spray immediately after welding. Spray will be given by supervisor. Spay MSDS
will be ready available at the working place. The weld surface has to be brushed and welding
slag has to be removed. After cool down of weld the area must be painted. Protective measures
will be taken in accordance with the MSDS. Argon gas will be used with welder device, so it will
be taken some precautions when it will be used. Open cylinder valves slowly with valve outlet
directed away from all personnel. Do not empty a cylinder completely. This will prevent a flashback and a possible explosive mixture. Purge oxygen and acetylene lines before lighting. Close
the main cylinder valve as soon as it is no longer necessary to have it open. Before you remove
the regulator make sure that the cylinder valve is closed.

6.5.

Installation

Check last revision of approved project then start installation. Controlling the montage
equipments of NSPB with the supervisor and performed an examination on the project then gives

the tasks to the team. Scaffold will be set by trained people. It will be tagged. Installation will be
carried out in accordance with the last approved revision of the installation projects. Request
form for materials will be prepared. Site will be controlled by NSPB supervisor then according to
supervisor, it will be transported. NSPB will be transported from lay down area to site with crane
and pickup. While it will be carried, it will be fixed safely in the truck board. The assembly
drawings will be checked on the place of installation. At the working area, the NSPB will be
placed in a way that will not prevent safe access and egress. Checking will be done for the
accessories of NSPB and preparation of NSPB accessories for montage, after boxes will be
opened. Erection of NSPB will be started by crane. Signaler will help operator when it will be
lifted. All personnel, who work high places, will have PPE. Installation of NSPB will be
executed according to the requirements. According to supervisor, it will be erected. Installation
will follow the erection drawing. The silicone bushings at phase side must be installed during
alignment of shipping units. Preconditions the excitation transformer must be installed before
erection of the connecting shipping units. Installation will follow the erection drawing. NSPB
comply with the projects requirements. Where cutting of NSPB is needed, it will be sprayed with
spray immediately. When all erection and testing will be done, scaffold will be dismantled by
competent personnel. PPE will be used all level of action. When all of works will be done, it will

emergency stop signal at all times, no matter who gives it. The operator will
not leave the operating controls while the load is suspended.
Taglines will be used all time, it refers to load to be guided and controlled.
Lifting equipment will not be used in the open air where weather conditions could affect the
integrity of the equipment or expose persons to danger. All lifting equipment shall be stored in
closed area away from wet and direct sunlight.

7.4.

Access and housekeeping

Safe access to the workplace will be provided at all times. Guardrails will be provided at the
edges and openings where risk of fall from 1.5 m presents.
Where scaffolding is in use it will meet the requirements. The scaffoldings will be erected on a

rails will be installed. Walkways will be kept clear of trash, debris and other materials to prevent
slipping and tripping. The polyethylene foil will be collected and disposed in accordance with the
waste management plan.

7.5.

Manual handling

Where manual handling cannot be avoided tasks will be designed to minimize the
weight, range of motion, and frequency of the activity. During manual handling all
workers have to wear safety gloves and make sure they are protective against trip
hazards and sharp edges. The distance between the person and the object being
handled will be as small as possible. Employees will use good manual handling
techniques for lifting, pulling or pushing. Material handling equipment will be easy
