The T-Solar plant achieves ISO, OHSAS and EMAS

certifications in record time

These certifications, the most prestigious worldwide for quality, the environment and
occupational health and safety, endorse the production process of TSolar, a true pioneer
in Europe

The plant, located in the Galicia Technology Park, uses the most advanced technology in
the production of thinfilm hydrogenated amorphous silicon photovoltaic modules

The plant will produce 700,000 m

m of solar panels annually

Madrid, 9 July 2009. The TSolar Group, a pioneer in the manufacture of thinfilm hydrogenated
amorphous silicon photovoltaic modules, achieve the certification of its production process at its
Orense plant in record time. These are official certifications are the most prestigious
internationally in the areas of quality, and the environment, safety and health.
The 14,000 m plant was inaugurated in October 2008 and is situated on a 29,000 m plot within
the Galicia Technology Park. The production system is fully integrated and automated and is
equipped with the latest generation technology supplied by Applied Materials. The plant will
produce 70,000 m of solar panels per year and has a power equivalent capacity of 40 MW last
year, expandable to 65 MW/year and 90 MW/year in the subsequent phases.
This fully automated manufacturing system has just been officially endorsed through the award of

hydrogenated amorphous silicon photovoltaic modules manufactured at the plant. Specifically,
since this past December the 1.4 m2 modules are officially certified under the standards IEC
61,646/2008 and EN61,730/2007, granted by TV InterCert, one of the most prestigious certifi

cation authorities in the world. In addition, at the end of the month the company will receive the
certification of its 5.7 m2 modules, the largest existing in the market.
The results obtained from these controls allow the company to guarantee the performance and
encapsulation of its modules for 25 years.

Modules for Italy
The modules that TSolar manufactures in Orense will shortly be installed in an 8 MW solar plant
in the Italian region of Puglia.
This clean energy project in Italy is part of an ambitious international expansion plan that the
company is implementing in target markets like the United States,
States Italy,
Italy France,
France Spain and the
Mediterranean basin.

ABOUT TSOLAR
TSolar is a technological and industrial group whose main business purpose is to use the sun as a clean energy source.
This 100%
00% Spanish company has invested more than 1,000
,000 million Euros
uros in a pioneering business project which
integrates all activities that comprise the value chain of the photovoltaic sector. TSolar produces the biggest
photovoltaic panels in the market (5.7 m2), using thin film hydrogenated silicon technology. Full automation of the
factory enables it to reach a production capacity of 700,000 m2 of modules per year, equivalent to a power rating of 45
MW/year. The TSolar Group also promotes, manages and operates its own photovoltaic plants in order to market the
electricity they generate. It currently has 28 photovoltaic parks in Spain that produce an installed power output of
143.39 MWp capable of producing 212 GWh/year, enough power to meet the electricity needs of a city of 200,000
people. To date, TSolar has generated more than 200 direct jobs for highly qualified personnel and plans to continue
growing in 2009 to assure its continued leadership in the national and international markets.
