Intercede for the Muslim World!

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful
Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace (Is 9:6, NIV).

Today's Prayer Requests: From Students, Alumni, and Missionaries

NIGER: We thank God that the national holiday celebration last Friday was peaceful, though held under heavy
security. The day before (Dec. 17), the president announced that his government had foiled an attempted coup.
Because of threats from Boko Haram, schools in this town have closed, including the Assemblies of God school
system. Please continue to pray for peace and the reopening of the schools. Niger will hold presidential elections in
February. Pray that God's people here would be witnesses of His peace during this time of tension.
TOGO: We have been praying for an evangelism team working with an alumnus who pastors in a Muslim-dominated
area. Through their efforts three churches were planted last August, and this past week the team made a follow-up
visit. Praise God for His protection on them. The road trip north took 13 hours instead of the usual 5, but they arrived
safely. Twenty-three believers were baptized, including a 100-year-old woman, a respected leader in her village. Pray
that these churches would continue to grow in faith and bring others into the Kingdom.
WAAST: Please pray for God's protection over this campus, the WAAST International Chapel, and Radio Jesus Loves
You, especially during this year-end holiday season. Last Friday three workers at a Christian radio station in Timbuktu
were killed by gunmen. Attacks against Christian radio and TV stations have taken place recently in Pakistan and
Egypt. Pray as well for the protection of churches around the world as they celebrate Jesus and bring in the New Year.

In the News
Over several years we have prayed for several pastors imprisoned for their faith in Iran. We thank God that this year
Pastor Farshid Fathi can be with his wife and two children for Christmas! The Assemblies of God pastor, arrested in
December 2010, was released on December 21. Please continue to pray for Pastor Saeed Abedini and some 100 other
Christians held for their faith. For more, see http://bit.ly/1NKdDto.

From Global Initiative*

Intercede for Chechen Christians, who suffer greatly from the ongoing conflict between Russia and Islamic rebels.
The 1.4 million Chechen are almost entirely Muslim, and international Islamists have radicalized many of them. The
Christian presence in Chechnya has been largely eliminated or expelled. A Baptist presence remains in Grozny...
Hatred of Russians (and thereby all Christians) and ruthless Islamist groups make ministry extremely sensitive work
(https://www.vomcanada.com/russia.htm).

For Muslim Women**

Pray that Christian women who work among Muslims in restricted access countries will know the value of their
service this Christmas. Thousands of believing women work in Muslim homes. May their employers see their
consistent faithfulness and unswerving love for Christ during this season of celebration and throughout the year.
