Akshat Kant
Business Leadership Program

Qualifications and Experience: Akshat is a BBA and has a Masters in Management


Sciences (IT/Systems). Akshat has work experience of 7 years in the domain of
development, deployment of web systems and online marketing. He has formulated
product visions and strategies for online businesses and launched several innovative initiatives within
the realm of E-commerce. In his last role at Lohia Group (www.divinewellness.com), Akshat was
responsible for envisaging the entire online business model making it technologically viable for the
services to be offered online.

Strengths and Beliefs: Akshat enjoys multi-tasking, looks forward to undertaking new tasks and projects
and is able to think through complex situations. He has the ability to identify individual interests and
capabilities forming rapport with team members instantaneously.

Learning at SOIL: While building Brand Awareness online for the NGO, 'Adharshila', Akshat has learnt to
provide direction to team members and bring about innovation in the social sector. He is also leading the
Online Marketing initiative for the upcoming International Leadership conference at SOIL as well as
helping other NGO teams with the concepts of online brand awareness.

Future Aspirations: Akshat looks forward to avenues to apply his analytical abilities within the
Consulting industry.

Amit Kumar Sinha


Business Leadership Program

Qualifications and Experience: Amit has completed his M.Sc. (Physics) with a specialization in
Advanced Electronics and has work experience of 11 years. In his last role at Reliance Retail he was
working as the State Staffing Head and has recruited a team of around 1800 people with 20
managers reporting to him. He was instrumental in rolling out a special recruitment & training
program in Reliance Outlets to create employment opportunities for the handicapped. In his prior assignments, he has
managed diverse responsibilities in Sales, HR & Customer Service and has a proven track record in turning around
existing operations and setting up new businesses (FMCG, Life Insurance and Retail). He launched the Elle-18 brand in
Bihar & Orissa, set up operations in the Life Insurance and Retail verticals in Eastern India and was awarded the “Best
Salesperson Award”.

Strengths and Beliefs: Amit enjoys being with people and builds connections with ease. He has the ability to quickly
analyze key business drivers and articulate strategies to increase the business bottom line. He believes in setting
achievable goals and prioritizing tasks.

Learning at SOIL: Amit has strengthened his emotional quotient while working on diverse projects with the NGO, 'SOS
Children's Village'. While working with multiple stakeholders of the project, Amit has communicated effectively to
audiences whose perspectives, needs and methods of processing information differ. Under guidance from his industry
mentor, Amit has gained insights in visualizing the end goals and planning to achieve them using the relevant tools.

Future Aspirations: Amit is seeking to utilize his leadership abilities and personal qualities to work on Business
Development opportunities.
Ankush Chopra
Business Leadership Program

Qualifications and Experience: Ankush is an MCA and has over 5 years of experience with Tech
Mahindra in Software Delivery and Project Management for the Telecom Industry. He has led
teams of up to 30 members, two of which were judged as best teams within the business unit. He
received the “Young Achiever Award” for setting benchmarks in product deployment using innovative ideas and
showcasing his team's project during the company's CMMI assessment.

Strengths and Beliefs: While working within teams, Ankush is able to identify the interests and capabilities of team
members and uses this input to improve processes and systems, set policies and develop initiatives. He
communicates in a forthright manner and provides the necessary performance feedback to his team. Ankush has a
keen eye for detail and thrives on the challenge of identifying diverse solutions to problems.

Learning at SOIL: The module on Knowledge Based Strategy has made him appreciate the importance of building
knowledge flows between various departments to create synergy within an organization. This has led him to take the
initiative of setting up a Student Knowledge Management System at SOIL. The Social Innovation Project on Child
education with the NGO, 'SRF Foundation' has sensitized him to the ground-realities of the country. The project has
made him aware of how businesses and individuals can discharge their responsibility through active involvement
with the community.

Future Aspirations: Ankush wants to apply his unique skill sets to work in areas of Operations, IT and Program
Management.

M. Arun Singh
Business Leadership Program

Qualifications and Experience: Arun is an Electrical Engineer and holds a Masters in


Advanced Embedded System Design. He has work experience of 3 years. In his last role at
Lear Corporation, he led a team of 3 members and worked on various aspects of the
Project Life Cycle of Embedded Software. He has been involved in continuous process improvement and
has successfully delivered high quality projects under tight schedules using the First-Time-Right
Approach.

Strengths and Beliefs: Arun is an excellent team player, with high idea orientation. He is able to manage
multiple tasks in challenging situations through his strong problem solving capabilities and promptness
to action.

Through his structured approach, he ensures that details of his assignments meet the highest standards
of quality.

Learning at SOIL: The courses at SOIL have given Arun insights into building successful organizations
without compromising on core values. The course on Strategy for Corporate Growth helped him
understand Strategic Foundation Elements and the importance of a clear and compelling value strategy.

Future Aspirations: Arun is keen to work within the Auto Industry in areas of Consulting or Corporate
Strategy.
Ashray Sachdeva
Business Leadership Program

Qualifications and Experience: Ashray has a Bachelor's in Commerce with 2 years of


experience in Investment Banking with Deutsche Bank. In his first year on the job, he single
handedly transferred a crucial and highly sensitive trading process from London to Bangalore
and was the single point of contact for Credit Default Swap Trades-Remaining Party amendments in Deutsche
Bank. He is also a CFA 1st Level Candidate.

Strengths and Beliefs: While working within a team, Ashray takes initiative to develop relationships and is
able to enhance team performance with constructive suggestions and honest feedback. He is viewed as a
valuable team resource and is able to initiate and implement changes. He uses his empirical reasoning ability
and common sense to develop solutions for complex situations.

Learning at SOIL: While working towards community development in a village near SOIL, Ashray has been
able to enhance his ability to formulate flexible approaches in responding to diverse viewpoints. While
working with the Finance team for SOIL's Conference on Inspired Leadership, Ashray has been able to
recognize and address the conflicting viewpoints within a given situation.

Future Aspirations: Ashray would like to join the Investment Banking Fraternity to pursue his interest in
Equity, Fixed Income, Derivatives and Portfolio Management.

Deepak Teotia
Business Leadership Program

Qualifications and Experience: Deepak is a B.Tech. (IT) and has worked for 3.5 years at Infosys in
the domain of Software Maintenance and Testing for Retail & GIS. Deepak was a brand
ambassador for the “Infosys Campus Connect Initiative” and has delivered technical seminars at
various engineering colleges. While at Infosys, Deepak won 5 awards and has won several national level awards
including the National level singing competition at IIT Roorkee.

Strengths and Beliefs: Deepak leverages opportunities to network with new people and uses his high idea
orientation to develop creative strategies and alternate approaches to resolve complex problems. His high self
structure helps him to successfully set priorities and manage time. He believes that for others to buy into a leader's
vision, it is important for leaders to communicate clearly and empathize with people.

Learning at SOIL: While working with the NGO, 'Navjyoti', Deepak has brought critical matters to closure within the
expected time frames. While building plans for income generating projects for rural women, Deepak gained an
appreciation for considering both short term and long term implications of a business decision. He has enhanced his
ability to review projects with accuracy and precision.

Future Aspirations: Deepak intends to build a career in the areas of Business Development or Corporate Strategy &
Consulting.
Girish S Mule
Business Leadership Program

Qualifications and Experience: Girish has a Bachelor's degree in Textile Chemistry and holds a
diploma in Technical and Applied Chemistry. Girish has 5 years of experience in handling Turn
Key Projects, Corporate Strategy and Project Implementation and was last working as a
Management Consultant with Technopak Advisors Pvt. Ltd. He has domain expertise in Strategy Consulting and
has handled a broad range of client engagements, including Market Entry Strategy, Project Viability Studies,
Planning and Implementation of Green Field Projects, Vetting of Plants and various assignments on Marketing tie
ups and JVs.

Strengths and Beliefs: Girish plans, co-ordinates and implements projects in a reliable and conscientious manner.
While working within teams, Girish is enthusiastic, brings people together and displays a motivation to help others.
He is thorough in his approach and weighs numerous options while formulating solutions.

Learning at SOIL: The course on 'Enhancing your Creative Potential' has helped him to refine his life vision, while
keeping in mind the welfare of the society. Through interaction with industry leaders and world class faculty, he got
insights on how businesses can be managed without compromising on ethics and values. In the social innovation
project with the NGO, 'Navjyoti', he gained insights on developing business plans for sustainable income generation
activities. Girish is leading the fund raising team for SOIL's 'Conference on Inspired Leadership'.

Future Aspirations: Girish would like to leverage his past consulting experience to work within the area of
Corporate Strategy or Consulting.

Himaghna Dey Sarkar


Business Leadership Program

Qualifications and Experience: Himaghna is a Computer Science Engineer with 3 years of


experience at R Systems. His work at R Systems involved responding to hacking attacks and
working with network administrators across the globe to ward off network threats. While working
on his entrepreneurial venture, he was involved in a variety of issues including software development, client
management, business development and HR. He has participated in jungle hiking and inter-state motorcycle trips.

Strengths and Beliefs: Himaghna has consistently been able to add value and create a positive impact on the teams

he has worked with. He is able to identify feasible solutions to complex problems and is a self-motivated person
driven by a desire to excel. He believes that in business, taking a risk should be preceded by meticulous planning,
awareness of the surroundings and a careful analysis of the strengths and weaknesses.

Learning at SOIL: Through the various courses at SOIL, Himaghna has appreciated that in order to sustain an
organization, a business or a macro economy, the world needs leaders who are well equipped with the latest
knowledge and information, who can generate ideas and who can bring people and professionals together to
maintain the synergy between long-term and short-term goals of the environment.

Future Aspirations: Himaghna has a keen interest in Strategy Formulation across functions.
Himanshu Gupta
Business Leadership Program

Qualifications and Experience: Himanshu is an MCA and has a degree in B.Sc.


(Computer Science). He has 8.5 years of experience in Software Development, Project
Management and IT Consulting. In his last role, he was working with Xebia as a Project
Manager, where he received appreciation from the CEO for successfully turning around a project. He has
led teams of 12 to 15 people in his previous projects. He is a Certified Scrum Master from Scrum Alliance
and has rolled out Agile/Scrum Methodology across Xebia.

Strengths and Beliefs: Himanshu builds consensus for his initiatives, senses the subtle needs, concerns
and reactions of his team members and is a patient listener. He is a keen learner and looks forward to
multi-tasking. Himanshu is able to improvise solutions and is adept at viewing situations from a variety of
perspectives.

Learning at SOIL: While working with the NGO, 'Navjyoti', Himanshu has been able to enhance his ability
to create structure in ambiguous environments. Working within a team, he has been able to capitalize on
his ability to arrive at numerous innovative approaches to a problem.

Future Aspirations: Himanshu looks forward to leveraging his experience to work in the areas of Pre-
sales or Operations.

Kumar Abhishek
Business Leadership Program

Qualifications and Experience: Abhishek is a Computer Science Engineer with 3 years of


experience in Software Configuration Management (SCM), Data storage and Network Security in
the IT industry. In his last role as Associate Manager at MindTree Consulting, he implemented
the Configuration Management training programs across organization along with the Quality
Team. He has played multiple roles at MindTree including that of being the single point of contact for all Symantec-SCM
issues (India Operation). He has received performance awards and chaired many initiatives such as writing software
patterns and organizing Tech fests. Abhishek was responsible for co-creating Green Council, a multi-disciplinary
advisory group which promotes environmental movement at MindTree. He has worked towards defining policies and
plans for making MindTree a carbon neutral organization.

Strengths and Beliefs: Abhishek is goal oriented and has a venturesome spirit. He shows the capacity to be able to assess
complex issues and unusual situations, as well as develop ideas to resolve problems. He is capable of using his analytical
skills and conceptual orientation to isolate the aspects of a matter and to identify the fact patterns and root causes.
Abhishek's self direction and ability to communicate in a straight forward manner makes him contribute to the
organization's effectiveness and efficiency.

Learning at SOIL: Through intense interaction with industry practitioners, Abhishek has gained a deep understanding of
business practices. The programs at SOIL have sharpened his thinking abilities and have brought him closer to realizing
his career goals.

Namrata Chandwani
Business Leadership Program

Qualifications and Experience: Namrata is an Economics graduate and also holds a degree in
Women Development Studies. She has worked for 2 years with Hewitt Associates in the Human
Resources Advisory Services. In her last role, she was leading a team of 3 members and was
involved in product development and process improvement and enhancement. She has worked in
various critical projects within the domain of Total Compensation Measurement for clients operating in different
geographies. During graduation, she was a member of the Women Development Centre (WDC).

Strengths and Beliefs: While working within teams, Namrata effectively identifies the subtle needs, feelings and
reactions of others and incorporates the diverse opinions for team deliverables, thereby enriching her working
relationships. Her productivity-focused approach and keen eye for detail enable her to deliver quality outputs and
custom design solutions. She believes in growth through continuous learning.

Learning at SOIL: Through the numerous courses at SOIL, Namrata has appreciated the inherent necessity of firms
to constantly innovate for competitive advantage. She specifically enjoyed the course on 'Strategic Brand
Management' which positioned marketing as not just a battle of products, but a battle of perceptions. Marketing
Courses have made her appreciate the importance of brands as intangible assets for organizations. Namrata's active
contribution to the Design Team of SOIL's Conference on Inspired Leadership has helped her apply this classroom
learning.

Future Aspirations: Namrata looks forward to opportunities to leverage her prior work experience and is inclined to
work within the domain of Marketing or Consulting.

Nidhi Saxena
Business Leadership Program

Qualifications and Experience: Nidhi has a Bachelors degree in Computer Applications and is a
Microsoft Certified System Engineer. She has work experience of 6 years in the IT industry. In her
last engagement with IBM, she set up & operationalized a crucial Quality Improvement Project for
a large financial institution. She was handpicked by the project's Country Head to play the role of an Independent
Reviewer (Business Analyst) and at a later stage, her role was further expanded to assist the Sr. Management to plan,
manage & track the project performance.

Strengths and Beliefs: While working, Nidhi is able to comfortably develop relationships, build consensus within
teams and consider others' ideas when setting goals and identifying initiatives. Nidhi is a keen learner and looks
forward to opportunities to take up challenges. She delivers high quality work ahead of time and enjoys exploring a
variety of techniques while planning strategies and tactics.

Learning at SOIL: Through her experience with the NGO, 'Search Years', Nidhi realized the need of informed
communities' participation in improving the quality of education in government schools. Subjects like Brand
Management and High Performance Organizations gave her the insight that an organization needs to focus both on
internal excellence and customer orientation to be successful. While working towards launching the first newsletter
of SOIL, she has learnt to present her ideas in a structured and interesting manner.

Future Aspirations: Nidhi enjoys problem solving, interacting and engaging with people and would like to pursue
opportunities wherein she can leverage her strengths.
Nikhil Narayan Singh
Business Leadership Program

Qualifications and Experience: Nikhil has a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering and has
worked for 5.5 years with Akzo Nobel in Institutional Sales of industrial coatings. As part of his
role, he was handling the Northern Region for Oil & Gas and Power Segments. For a brief period as
Regional Manager, he handled the Western India Region where he was responsible for the regional P&L. Nikhil was
the youngest employee to be promoted to Area Sales Manager and was the star performer of the year for two
consecutive years. He is a NACE certified Level 1 coating inspector. He has also successfully completed the Sales
Development Program proGRESS XVIII from UK.

Strengths and Beliefs: Nikhil has a detail-oriented approach which enables him to deliver accurate and consistent
results. His abstract reasoning skills and conscientious approach have enabled him to identity complex problems,
figure out the cause and effect relationships, and make well considered choices in his work.

Learning at SOIL: The module on “Enhancing Your Creative Potential” helped Nikhil internalize his creative
strengths. While working with the NGO, 'Joining Hands', he developed customized solutions for employee
engagement across different companies. He is leading the marketing initiative for SOIL's first conference on
Inspired Leadership.

Future Aspirations: Nikhil aspires to be part of an organization where he can leverage his prior experience and skills
to contribute in the area of Marketing.

Prateek Prashar
Business Leadership Program

Qualifications and Experience: Prateek has 6 years of experience in Project


Management, Corporate Affairs and Marketing. In his last role at Emaar MGF, as
Executive Assistant to the CEO (N), his responsibilities included briefing on the project
status, tracking progress of the initiatives decided in the meetings with Business Heads and coordinating
with the different departments to disseminate information across the various teams.

Strengths and Beliefs: Prateek is a forthright and resilient individual and his ability to work with diverse
teams has helped him deliver high quality work. Prateek is able to deliver performance feedback, assign
responsibilities and make challenging decisions. He enjoys interacting with people and believes in
building relationships. Prateek is a keen learner and enjoys exploring new areas. He believes that to be
successful one needs clarity of thought and purity of mind.

Learning at SOIL: Prateek has gained conceptual knowledge of various disciplines such as Marketing,
Brand Management, Human Resource Management, Strategy, High Performance in Organizations and
Knowledge Based Strategy. He has understood the significance of working in teams and the importance
of Networking and Knowledge Sharing within groups.

Future Aspirations: Prateek is interested in roles in Business Development, Client and Customer

Priyank Kishor
Business Leadership Program

Qualifications and Experience: Priyank is a Production Engineer with 2 years of


experience at TATA Motors. He has led cross functional teams and delivered benchmark
projects in Product Marketing and Ancillary Development. Priyank was instrumental in
innovating processes in vendor development and alignment, and implemented vendor segmentation
through a Supplier Quality Improvement Group. He has implemented methodologies in product
segmentation, targeting and marketing which set the decision making framework for TATA Motors.
Priyank is a recipient of a Gold Medal for academic excellence during graduation.

Strengths and Beliefs: Priyank manages situations pro actively. He asserts himself and uses persuasion
effectively to help gain buy-in. Given his high abstract reasoning ability, he addresses complicated
problems in a precise way. He is apt at engaging others in conversation, building rapport and developing
good working relationships.

Learning at SOIL: While working with the NGO, 'Nyayabhoomi', which works with auto rickshaw drivers,
he has honed his persuasion skills by successfully marketing new channels of advertisement to corporate
clients. He has learnt nuances of implementing change and managing challenges in formulating new
strategies for organizations with an objective to make them operationally efficient.

Future Aspirations: With his keenness to understand and learn emerging marketing practices, Priyank is
drawn to the area of Marketing and Business Development.

Priyanka
Business Leadership Program

Qualifications and Experience: Priyanka is a Masters in Computers Application (MCA) with 2


years in software development at Cognizant Technology Solutions. Priyanka is certified by
Cognizant in Life Sciences and is a Sun certified Java Developer. With expertise in Business
Process Execution Language (BPEL) coupled with Client Management skills, she has worked on numerous
successful projects at Cognizant. Priyanka was also chosen to capture the Voice of Customer for a client.

Strengths and Beliefs: Priyanka's strength lies in her active persuasion skills. She successfully negotiates and
influences her team while working towards a common goal. Priyanka is conceptually oriented and enjoys the
challenge of brainstorming as well as problem-solving.

Learning at SOIL: Courses like 'Knowledge Based Strategy' and 'Strategy for Corporate Growth' have helped
Priyanka formulate strategies for the NGO, 'Navjyoti' under the constraints of conflicting views and limited
resources. In order to design a sustainable business, she participated in Market Research and development of the
Business Plan. Combining her skills in operations and marketing, she is participating in online marketing for the
Conference of Inspired Leadership at SOIL. Her strong idea orientation and ability to understand problems made
her part of the winning team for case study competition by Kohler. Interaction with her mentor has helped her
enhance her consulting skills.

Future Aspirations: With expertise in developing IT solutions aligned with business objectives, Priyanka is
interested in a career in Consulting and Marketing.
Puneet Bhawsinghka
Business Leadership Program

Qualifications and Experience: Puneet is a Masters in Computer Applications (MCA)


with 5 years of experience in executing SAP projects for global clients of Tata
Consultancy Services Ltd. A SAP Certified PI Development Consultant, Puneet was the
Technical Lead Consultant, leading teams of 5-12 people. As part of a globally distributed team, he was
based in Paris for 2 years. Given his ability to take diverse stakeholders along, while delivering complex
projects within timelines, his project is now a Case Study at TCS.

Strengths and Beliefs: Fair yet firm, Puneet's ability to display persuasive communication dynamics,
resilience to setbacks, as well as take-charge qualities tempered with empathic sensitivity has helped him
to overcome obstacles to his progress.

Learning at SOIL: Working with 'Joining Hands', an NGO which works with organizations to generate
volunteers for social causes, has helped Puneet develop people orientation skills. The courses on
Coaching & Development and Knowledge Management have reinforced the power of seeking solutions
from within to architect breakthrough performance. Puneet is the Program Coordinator for the
Conference on Inspired Leadership.

Future Aspirations: Puneet would like to associate with an organization which challenges him to evolve
both professionally and personally.

Rachit Jain
Business Leadership Program

Qualifications and Experience: Rachit is an Electronics & Communication Engineer with 3 years
of experience in IT services as a Sr. Software Engineer at iGATE Global Solutions. His expertise
lies in Data Warehousing & BI, with experience in Insurance and Banking industry. He is certified
in Cognos and LOMA - Level 1. He was instrumental in several process improvement programs and was awarded
'Outstanding' performer for these initiatives in his organization. His interest in dramatics and extempore has won
him several awards.

Strengths and Beliefs: Self directed and deliberative, Rachit engages in an energetic and enthusiastic manner, while
leading by example. Rachit's strengths lie in solving complex problems through abstract reasoning, giving attention
to detail and ensuring swift action.

Learning at SOIL: Rachit has greatly benefitted from the case study discussions and their practical applications,
especially in the area of Marketing. He has also learnt to apply the frameworks of Blue Ocean Strategy and Change
Management to his Social Innovation Project with the NGO 'Nyayabhoomi' to promote innovative advertising
channels for the benefit of auto drivers. The course in Leadership through Theatre has taught him the finer nuances
of influencing larger audiences.

Future Aspirations: Rachit would like to build his career in Marketing and Business Development where he feels he
can fully realize and utilize his potential.
Raghu Ramaiah
Business Leadership Program

Qualifications and Experience: Raghu is a B.Sc graduate and has 8 years of experience in
the health and life insurance industry with organizations such as Aviva Life Insurance
and Fidelity Business Services. In his last role, at Calibrated Health Networks, as a

PRINCE2 Project Management Practitioner and is ITIL V3 Certified. Suraj has completed a
research based MS in Software Systems (BITS, Pilani) and an Executive Certification in Strategic
Management (IIM-K). Suraj has led 50 member teams for projects across geographies. He worked on turning around
Dell's Business Continuity projects in Japan which provided him with insights into humility, tenacity and adaptive
resilience. At Fidelity, he transitioned UK based projects to India for clients such as RBS.

Strengths and Beliefs: Demonstrating take-charge qualities, Suraj leverages his abilities to be fair yet firm while

City level organizations like IMAGES and the NGO Sewarth where he performed roles such as Marketing Head,
Project Manager, Vice President and Teacher.

specializes in the area of design and development of Electrical & Electronics architecture
of SUV's & Pick Up's for global markets meeting global design standards. He has led and managed several
first of their kind projects from conceptualization to the roll out stage.
