• Why is His presence needed?
• DIRECTION
• Exodus 23.21‐23 “ Behold, I send an Angel before 
thee, to keep thee in the way, and to bring thee 
into the place which I have prepared. Beware of 
him, and obey his voice, provoke him not; for he 
will not pardon your transgressions: for my name 
is in him. But if thou shalt indeed obey his voice, 
and do all that I speak; then I will be an enemy 
unto thine enemies “ (cont)

• Exodus 23 (cont) “ and an adversary unto thine adversaries. 
For mine Angel shall go before thee and bring thee unto….”
• Exodus 33.13‐16 “ Now therefore, I pray thee, if I have 
found grace in thy sight, shew me not thy way, that I may 
know thee, that I may find grace in thy sight: and consider 
that this nation is thy people. And he said, My presence 
shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest. And he said 
unto him, If thy presence go not with me, carry us not up 
hence. For wherein shall it be known here that I and thy

• 2 Corinthians 10.5 “ ( For the weapons of our 
warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God 
to the pulling down of strongholds)”
• Carnality Defined:  It is not the overcoming of sin, 
which has been defeated in the christian life. 
Carnality is the dependence upon our ingenuity, 
creativity and reasoning abilities to accomplish 
the work of God. Our natural abilities do not 
supplant the work of the Spirit and his guidance.

• Conviction
• Conviction begins for most as we repent for our 
sins and are then born again into the kingdom of 
God. Conviction is then moved into a place of not 
only the will of God but also the purposes of God. 
Your revelation or understanding of the eternal 
plan of God will dictate in most cases the will of 
God. Conviction is the work of God to show His 
mind for or against a thing.

• Victory
• Victory for the believer is in overcoming or 
conquering ground or territory held by the 
enemy. This pertains to our minds as well as our 
dominion.
• Without this supernatural leader we can’t gain 
victories, for our battles and life consist of the 
ability to discern. This is why we say that “ we 
don’t know evil by experience but because it is 
foreign to our spirit.”

• Judges 16.20 “ And he awoke out of his sleep, 
and said, I will go out as at other times before, 
and shake myself. And he wist not that the 
Lord was departed from him”
• We can maintain the appearance and the 
programs of God and yet God is not here.

• 1 Samuel 4.5 “ And when the ark of the Lord 
came into the camp, all Israel shouted with a 
great shout, so that the earth rang again.”
• Vs 10 “ And the Philistines fought, and Israel 
was smitten, and they fled every man into his 
tent: and there was a very great slaughter; for 
there fell of Israel thirty thousand footmen.”

• You can’t count on the past , to experience 
God in the future
• Have you ever considered the number of 
methods and ways that God brought victories 
throughout the scripture.
• We keep doing the same things expecting 
different results, that is the definition of 
insanity !

• In my opinion church life has become self 
absorbed. We are eating and being blessed 
until that is what is expected from church life. 
• There is a principle that we are blessed to be 
broken to be shared.
• Where are you doing in this war? This war is 
all encompassing, it is everything from 
cleaning the church to excorcism. Have we 
mistaken “ the box” for God.

• How do we encounter the presence of God?
• Invitation
• Believe it or not God wants to be invited?
• Worship is an invocation for the presence of 
God.
• The book of Revelation
• The book of Song of Solomon 
• They indicate that God is awaiting invitation

• Humility
• Humility attracts the presence of God, it is the way in 
which God has chosen as an indicator that we surrender 
our ways to His ways.
• We have turned the scripture that has promises and 
inverted them for our aggrandizement. I have heard 
more concerning the exaltation than toward the humility.
• We want to be used of God, and that is admirable but we 
have a propensity to turn that inward. We will cling to 
that in our earthen vessels instead of realizing it is for His 
glory.

• Humility vs Exaltation
• Most people don’t realize that the exaltation 
is relative to being with and part of what God 
is doing in that instance.
• Exaltation doesn’t affect the measure of a 
person . It places you in a vulnerable position 
of becoming self exalted. 2 Corinthians 10,12
