Animal experimentation has been around for about 100 years. About
92% of these animal experimentation trials fail in human trails. The reasons
why they fail is because mice are only 98% genetically like humans. You
cant compare mice to a human because a human body is more complex and
people are different. Animals go through a lot of pain and suffering in the
process. Its morally and ethically wrong to see animals go through all that
suffering for medical advancements and for just consumer products like
makeup or for shampoos you use on your hair. Morally wrong because its not
right seeing and doing something you know is wrong. Ethically wrong
because there have been documented cases where you see videos of them
being treated wrong despite their suffering. Medical advancements has been
made because of animal experimentation despite that when is it okay to
choose a life over another life better yet human life.
I hope to address through out this research essay that animal
experimentation and exploitation is not helping medical advancements. Its
helped so many people but its gone to an extreme where animals are
separated from birth from their moms in labs like monkeys for mental illness

medicines. No life in this world is less precious than the other and that is
what Im trying to pursue. Its medically and morally wrong. You can run
many trials but once human trials come along the trial doesnt work. Nothing
in life is perfect and using lab mice wont give you results because we are
different species.
Animals have no voice and for me giving them a voice is important.
This subject is important to me because animals are apart of us as well
before us there were animals on this earth. We have pushed them out of
their natural habits so we can live and have communities. Pushing them out
then making smaller animals like mice, rabbits, and dogs suffer and go
through horrible experiments for mankind to live better. Seems to me its
wrong and inhumane of us to let one live and the other die. Not only that but
knowing that a certain drug wont make it through human trails because it
fails 98% of the time. Question is now why keep putting pain and suffering on
animals. I am a vegetarian and for almost a year I have lived a better
lifestyle animals are my passion and hope someday to become a
veterinarian.
I see both view points in order to keep making advancements in
medicine we must test on animals. They must go through painful procedures
and not to be given any painkiller is where they are ethically doing
something wrong. Knowing they are suffering is already bad enough but to
know it and not do anything about it seems just horrible to me. Medical
advancements can only be made with using people. People that are going

through a certain illness or disease they are trying to target because they
carry it. No mice or rabbit can give you these results other than mankind.
