Objective

Conference topics

This conference comes at a vital time for the effective

management of water resources in the face of population
growth, lack of conservation ethos, urbanisation,
industrial development, pollution of water bodies and
climatechange.

The conference topics will include the following subjects

dealing with water resource management:

Water is essential for all forms of life. It is a fundamental

resource necessary for socio-economic development
and for ecological sustainability. It is timely that the
sustainability and management of water resources is widely
discussed, noting that water can be used for an unlimited
number of times with proper treatment.
The conference will explore new and innovative methods
of freshwater and wastewater management for human
settlements, including treatment and reuse. A better
understanding and assessment of resources and their
supporting ecosystems is also required. Improved
conservation and approaches to achieve the dual aim of
socio-economic development and ecological protection
will contribute towards sustainability of water resources.
The conference will discuss the necessary infrastructure
for cities and regions to provide good quality water, in
sufficient quantity, in the most sustainable manner.
