St Josephs Church Spire: (Last refurbished in the 1980s). There has been obvious
deterioration (weathering) and damage (cockatoos). For safety reasons and longevity it
has been decided to conduct a thorough inspection of the Spire. The Parish has
engaged the services of a Master Stonemason and a Heritage Engineer and some
investigation has taken place. We have also commissioned a photogrammetric
recording of the structure (this will provide drawings that will be beneficial for future
planning). Internal access to the spire also needs to be upgraded to meet safety
standards. Parishioners may have noticed the crane on site recently, this has been for
inspection works.

Third Sunday of Advent

Advent has a two-fold purpose:
To prepare for Christmas when Christs birth is remembered
To await Christs second coming at the end of time
St Vincent de Paul & Refugee Christmas Envelopes:
Envelopes for both these worthy causes are available under the
Christmas tree. Envelopes can be placed on the collection plate
or handed to the Parish Office.

Communal Celebration of Gods Mercy & Forgiveness

Tuesday at 7.30pm
We are invited: to listen to the Word of God
to examine our conscience
to repent of our sins
to seek forgiveness of almighty God
NB: This is an excellent way to prepare for the up-coming feast of Christmas
Jubilee Year of Mercy: The Year of Mercy commenced last Tuesday (8th Dec) and
will conclude on the Feast of Christ the King (Nov 2016). This has been called by
Pope Francis. He invites the whole church to be an oasis of mercy.
