INTRODUCTION

The technology invaded our generation today. The new technologies had
changed our lives. A vast of benefits is offered to us as it makes our lives easier
and quicker than before. Technology has had a significant effect on the way
people live, work and play worldwide. This new emerging technology has
challenge the traditional way of teaching and learning and it opens new
knowledge and information that benefitted people.
One of the demanded courses in this country and other countries also is
information technology due to its numerous advantages in a country. It connects
people and nation; it opens doors for our generation. It also a great advantage in
business and education. That is why information technology has a major impact
through all curriculum areas. Easy worldwide communication provides instant
access to a vast array of data, challenging assimilation and assessment skills.
Rapid communication plus increased access to information technology in home,
at work and in education establishments could mean that learning becomes a
change forces constant evaluation of the learning process itself.
Information technology is a growing field that offers relatively secure
positions for those with solid technical skills and at least a bachelors degree in
an information technology related field. From support to engineering, there are
several specializations that deal with the various facets of information technology.
It also covers the design, administration and support of computer and

telecommunication systems. Some of the positions in this field include database
and

networking

administrator

computer

support

specialists,

software

programmers and system analysts. The majority of career tracks in information

technology entail design and operational tasks related to computer hardware
components, networks and software application.
To cope up with the advance teaching, immediate information or for short
to cope up with this technological generation and the other university in metro
manila TUP must build the information technological center for multiple purposes.
This research will discuss the sun and wind direction in the site where the
building will be constructed, the design concept of the IT center, the material that
will be using in construction, the plan, elevation and section of the proposed TUP
IT center. This research also includes the behavioral pattern of the users and the
things the designers considered in the design.

BACKGROUND OF THE PROBLEM

Information technology becomes a demanded course because of its major

impact through all curriculum areas especially in business and also in
engineering and architecture. Technological University of the Philippines already
had an information technology center located at the CIT building but it is not
enough to accommodate a numerous college student who desire to study
information technology. The space is small and it is not enough for the students
to fit inside or to move freely inside the IT center. Students will not be inspired or
be comfortable if their study area will be crowded and lack of new and advance
facilities. The university decided to build an IT center at the open space in the
back of CAFA building between the major roads. However, at the site there is a
two tree at the both side and the designers are not allowed to cut those trees due
to REPUBLIC ACT NO. 3571. One of the trees is a hindrance in making the plan
because its just making the space for the center smaller. In addition to the
problems the access of the student from the structure is also a problem. The site
is surrounded with closed walls without any entrance neither exit near the
structure which make it inaccessible for the user to have an easy access. The
noise that the vehicle producing is also one of the problems since it is near the
two major roads. The user will be disturb with the noise of the vehicles producing
they will not be able to be focus in their work.

OBJECTIVES

1. Develop an IT center that is spacious and ambiance that will help the users to
focus on their studies.
2. Construct a safe and strong building that can withstand any calamity.
3. Build an IT center that can accommodate numerous of users.

SCOPE AND DELIMINATION

The coverage of this study is about Information Technology center. This

study is consisting of the sun and wind direction in the site where the IT Center
will be build, the materials that will be using, the bubble diagram and schematic
diagram of the plan for the IT center, the design, form, color, material, and
planning concept. This study is also consisting of the design philosophy that will
be referring to architects quotes, and the behavioural pattern of the users of the
IT center. This study also covers the interior and exterior perspective of the IT
center, the site development plan, the ground, second, third, fourth and fifth floor
plan of the IT center including its elevation and section.

This study will not cover the expenses in the material that will be needed
in construction of the IT center, the number of materials that will be needed in the
construction. This will not also cover the plumbing layout and electrical layout of
the building, the schedule of doors and windows, the estimate of the project cost.
The details of column and footing, the floor framing plan, and the details and
schedule of floor beams is also not included in this study.

This research will enlighten and provide the users and the readers the
knowledge about the designers design in the TUP IT center. This research also
includes the sub and wind direction in the site, the materials that will be used in
constructing the IT center, bubble diagram and schematic diagram. This research
will also discuss about the design concept which is classical modern architecture,
the form concept of the structure, the color that the designers used for the
aesthetics of the building, the material concept and planning concept. The
designs that the designers considered on the plan and the behavioral pattern of
the user of the IT center will also be discuss in this research.
This research will surely be beneficial to architecture student who will also
study about IT center. They can learn and rely from this research. They can
improve the design and plan if the wishes to. This study would provide them
necessary information about IT center. This research can be also beneficial to
TUP since the IT center inside the CIT building is not that spacious to
accommodate aspiring information technologist they need a spacious IT center
where they can move freely and work comfortably. They can use the plan on this
research if they admired the proposed TUP IT center, besides TUP really do
need to build building for IT since it has a great impact and demanded nowadays.
