Job Purpose
As part of the box office sales team, provide a courteous, efficient and informed
service to the sections customers
Duties and Responsibilities - Job Specific
1. The sale of tickets and other services by phone, post or to personal callers.
2. To increase sales by recommending further shows, events and catering
opportunities to customers. Must have a full and detailed knowledge of schedule
of events.
3. To assist in the collection and maintenance of customer data on the sections
computerised database by requesting details from all customers and explaining
how they will be used.
4.

The sale of tickets and reconciliation of receipts in line with established


procedures.

5. Collating, reconciling and banking receipts at the end of trading, or as required.


6. To assist the Marketing Section in the preparation of reports, mailing information
or other data as required.
7. To greet clients attending meetings and events and direct them to the correct
location (either whilst seated at Box Office or, when requested, by standing in the
foyer).
8. To cover reception when required, answering the telephone and dealing with
visitor enquiries.
9. To sell advertising space (for example in the brochure, on Morris Columns and in
the building) as directed by the Box Office Manager. This could involve calling
existing clients, cold calling potential clients and up selling to existing clients.
10. To maintain a database of all sales campaigns you are working on.
11. To ensure all data and conversations relating to sales are accurately recorded.

12. To work with the team in developing new sales strategies.


13. To assist with research projects for example by calling customers following
events to ascertain their views on the event or their interest in future events.
14. As the first point of contact for the public, to work with the team in planning and
evaluating marketing and sales strategies.
15. To act in accordance with the guidelines of the Data Protection Act in capturing
personal details for sales and marketing purposes.
16. To assist with off site marketing as required, for example attending agricultural
shows or giving out flyers in Llandudno.
17. To assist with the updating of information on Venue Cymru on external websites
and other digital media.
18. To assist in the maintenance of posters, flyers and other display materials to
ensure maximum exposure for the Sections services. All flyers in the foyers
should be kept tidy and up to date at all times.
Duties and Responsibilities - Corporate
1. To be responsible for establishing good working relationships both internally
and externally.
2. Compliance with the Authoritys Policies and Procedures and to make known
to Senior Officers any areas, which are not adequately covered.
3. To participate actively in supporting the Authoritys principles and practices of
equality of opportunity as laid down within the Equal Opportunities Policy.
4. To be responsible for the application of Health & Safety practices within the
daily operations, sharing a common responsibility for Health & Safety across
the department, directorate and Authority as a whole.
5. Employees will be required to give certain information relating to themselves
in order that the Authority may properly carry out its duties, rights and
obligations as an employer. The Authority will process and control such data
principally for personnel, administrative and payroll purposes.
6. As a term of your employment and in order to maintain effective departmental
operations, you may be required to undertake any other reasonable task,
commensurate with your grade, as determined by your Line Manager or Head
of Service.

A good standard of education.
A certificate of achievement in customer care.
Previous experience in a customer sales /
service industry environment or in a front desk
capacity would be an advantage.
Must have competent IT skills.
Ability to communicate in Welsh.
Ability to communicate in English.
Ability to communicate effectively in person with
the public.
