Journal (Study Skills)

Today in class we started with the weekly quote, first we got in teams
and we talk about our word and quote that were going to represent us.
Our word was Austerity that means a situation in which there is not
much money and it is spent only on things that are necessary, an
example with this word is they lived through years of austerity after the
war. And our quote was Many of lifes failures are people who did not
realize how they were to success when they gave up by Thomas A
Edison.
After that activity the teacher talk about the word Procrastination I
think this is an interested word because it is not very common but it is
always presented in our life. It means act or habit of procrastinating, or
putting off or delaying, especially something requiring immediate
attention an example could be She was smart, but her constant
procrastination led her to be late with almost every assignment.
Teachers understand procrastination well enough but it does not just
present with teachers, could be with other professionals. Some examples
are:

Journal (Study Skills)

Todays class started with a presentation in power point of Multiple
Intelligences Theory and after we saw them, we made an activity of the
different intelligences.

The Multiple Intelligences Theory developed in 1983 by Dr. Howard

Gardner who suggests that intelligences based on I.Q. test, and he
propose eight different intelligences.

Spatial

The ability to visualize the minds eye so to speak.

Linguistic

People with verbal-linguistic intelligence and this area has to do

with words, spoken and written.

Logical Mathematical

Has to do with logic, abstraction reasoning and number

Kinesthetic

Core elements are control of ones bodily motions and capacity to

handle objects skillfully. They often learn best by doing something
physically rather than reading or hearing.

Musical

Has to do with sensitivity to sounds, rhythms, tones and music.

Those strongest in it way learn best via lecture.

Interpersonal

Interaction with others, tent to be extroverts and

communicate effectively and empathize easy with others.

they

Intrapersonal

Introspective and self-reflective capacities are intuitive and

typically introverted, they have different understanding of the self
and they prefer to work alone.

Naturalistic

Nature, nurturing and relating information to ones natural

surroundings.

After we finished looking the presentation we had an hour to make a

small didactic in teams were we had to make 4 activities for children
from 10-11 years old using at least 3 intelligences.
At final after we made our activities each team shared their activities
with the rest of the class and thats how we finished the class.
In this class I felt very comfortable because we used our ideas and
imagination to make activities for kids to work out different intelligences
and also because I learn those intelligences that I didnt even heard
about before.
