The Provincial Municipality of Cajamarca, has budget availability to pursue the
implementation of this public investment project and to be considered in the institutional
budget for 2009, and in coordination and co-financing with ALAC and CEDEPAS, as
institutions involved according agreement signed by them with carrying out the subject
matter of this study project.
The Provincial Municipality of Cajamarca through Infrastructure Management, has
installed capacity both technical and administrative, to ensure the proper execution of the
project.
Because it has the technical and financial capacity to implement this infrastructure
project, however, it is suggested submit to bid of or publicly adjudicar the completion of
the work within the framework of transparency and accountability of the Municipality.

maintenance of this project is charge by the Provincial Municipality of Cajamarca,
according to an agreement signed by the participants and involved in project annexes.
The economic benefits generated by the project are much greater than the costs of

The affected directly by the project is the whole population of the city of
Cajamarca, because it is the influence area of the Cheese Museum, which is
being considered as exhibition center of production of milk derivative which is
representative of Cajamarca, thus is the foreign and national tourists population,
whom visit the city and the main attractions touristic of our city, a major to be
considered as project beneficiary population.
In this sense and considering only that part of the population, both local and
foreign, visit the museum, it is considering a distribution and percentage as
follows: 30% Local Population, 10% Student Population, 50% and National
Tourists and 10% foreigners Tourists.
Where how it mentioned earlier, National and international tourists interested
in socio-cultural aspects that reflects the cheese as icon product of
Cajamarquina history, and the Cajamaquinos between 30 and 60 years old with

Project Background
The Provincial Municipality of Cajamarca, committed to building this important
work, it has allocated a land of 2397 sqm for the building of the Museum of
Cajamarca cheese, the subject-matter of this file, it is located in the area called
Iscoconga, Llacanora district, where currently it is being building the Cajamarca
livestock Complex, which is marketing center of livestock, training and recreation for
the Cajamarca and visitors population; complementing the objectives on which
frame the Cheese Museum.
The Cheese Museum draft, is the realization of an enterprise and government
management to recoup local collective and visitors memory the importance of
cheese production in the history of Cajamarca in northern Peru. It is converting In a
new tourism product who is oriented to harness of the increasing the flows of
national and foreign visitors who go to the city of Cajamarca. The intention to sell
with the museum is an "unforgettable experience of direct contact with the rich
cheese tradition Cajamarca, through a tour of its history, social and productive chain,
reflected in different art forms most relevant". For this it is necessary to concentrate
in one place, in a proper environment and adequate presentation of the most
valuable cultural tradition of one of the oldest and most important dairy regions of
Peru. Additionally, according to studies by CEDEPAS North, it is estimated that in
the first two years they will visit the Museum of Cheese around 61,200 tourists from
home and abroad, and in subsequent they will increase at an approximate rate of
5%.
The cooperation agreement signed in September 2007 between the city of
Cajamarca, Los Andes Association of Cajamarca and the Ecumenical Center for
Promotion and Social Action North - North CEDEPAS; let it start basic studies to
consolidate this new initiative, which joined Lutheran World Relief. The contribution
of the aforementioned institutions has enabled:
Design the Cheese Museum holistically, from various studies based on conceptual,
musicological and museographer approach, partially considered in this study; It has
developed studies anthropological that allowed to know the origin of creation of
Cajamarca cheese, attributed to the initiative and creativity of the rural population; in
response to changes and challenges of their environment. Because it is an
unprecedented project, it have developed the following complementary studies:

Acquisition of six collections for the Cheese Museum, museum pieces, ethnographic
and utilitarian objects to be exhibited at the Museum of Cheese, those who have
received a thorough treatment of conservation and restoration. The six collections
include:
Ethnographic Collection, 94 objects collected from areas of cheesemaking tradition, properly preserved and restored.
Industrial Collection 04 objects collected from the industrial age.
Collection of Old photographs.
Collection of artwork.
Collection of utilitarian objects, objects collected from 26 areas of cheesemaking tradition, properly preserved and restored.
Collection of art, it is carved in stone, wood, cheese and pottery
