Due Date: Tuesday, Dec 8th


PAIRWORK PROJECT
Goal: Imagine that you are being interviewed for
designing/inventing your own invention. During the interview you
will be asked to give details on the invention and explain how you
got to invent it, its design, uses, pros and cons etc. using
grammar learned throughout the course
Linguistic/Grammar Goals: a. Adjective clauses
b. Adverb clauses
c. Conditionals
d. Noun Phrases
Means: A video
Detailed Information:
You are going to invent an invention related to anything of your
interest; economic, environmental, health, beauty, educational
needs for the year 2100.
You need to work in pairs to write an interview script (a dialogue).
Your answers need to reflect the information requested and the
grammar structures taken.
NOTE: Each of you will have to think of their own invention each
pair, therefore, will have to make TWO different videos and
scripts.
In your interview, you need to include the following:
a. Welcoming your guest and giving background
information on him/her
b. The name of the invention
c. The concern it is related to (environmental, economic,
health or educationaletc.)- and benefits of invention
in this area of concern

d. A detailed description of the invention ( design size


color(s)- weight -components ( what it is made of)
e. How did you invent it? By accident? Inspiration.etc.
f. Estimated cost
g. Potential uses (what for exactly & when can your
invention be used?)
h. Advantages of your invention ( good uses)
i. Potential drawbacks and/or disadvantages of your
invention ( negative)
j. Probability of success (To what extent do you think
your invention will be a hit/success?)
k. Which countries (or parts of the world) do you think
your invention will bloom in first? Why?
l. Which countries (or parts of the world do you think
will benefit from it most? Or need it most? Why?

Anything you wish to add (do not restrict yourself
to only what is required!)
n. Closing the interview
Project Requirements:
1. Interview script should:
Be typed
Have student & instructors name, course name, title
and date on 1st page
Have ALL required GRAMMAR structures
UNDERLINED AND LABELLED)
Have good general written grammar no spelling or
grammatical mistakes
2. Interview Recording:
Interview should be between 4 7 minutes long
Role playing should be done naturally you should
play the role of the host (interviewer) and

guest/inventor (interviewee) with minimal reading


done.
Practice should be evident
Spoken English should reflect required grammar
structures
Audio recording should be clear and loud please
record in a quiet place and speak up during your
interview IF I CANT HEAR IT CLEARLY, YOU DONT
GET CREDIT!

AND BOTH TYPED SCRIPTS TO THE FOLLOWING E-MAIL

don't need pages. It's just interview and your work is to


invent something simple and easy for 2100. You do the
grammar instruction and underline the instructor ordered.
So basically one to two pages describing the invent and
do what the instructor ordered for grammar rules. That's it.
I don't want complex words. Easy and simple but you most
follow the instructor. I WANT THE INVENTION TO BE A
FLYING HOVERBOARD. Because it's in the future. Could
you do it? Let me know.
But don't make it to long I only need 4 to 7 min interview
so don't make it too long.
