ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

No project presentation is ever complete without the guidance of those expert how
have already traded this past before and hence become master of it and as a result, my
leader. So I would like to take this opportunity to take all those individuals how have
helped me in visualizing this project.
I express out deep gratitude to our project guide Prof. Rajesh Bhise for
providing timely assistant to our query and guidance that he gave owing to his
experience in this field for past many year. He had indeed been a lighthouse for me in
this journey.
I would also take this opportunity to thank our co-ordinator Prof. Sandeep
Raskar for his guidance in selecting this project and also for providing us all this
details on proper presentation of this project.
I extend my sincerity appreciation to all professors from COLLEGE OF
ENGINEERING for their valuable inside and tip during the project presentation. Their
contributions have been valuable in so many ways that we find it difficult to
acknowledge of them individual.
I also great full to our HOD Ms. Rohini Bhosale for extending her help
directly and indirectly through various channel in my project work.

Thanking You,
Priyanka Naik

ABSTRACT
In wireless sensor network consist of a large number of sensor nodes that is capable to
perform local

computations

based

on gathering

sensory information

and

communicating with other sensor nodes in the network. Wireless sensor networks have
received significant research focus due to their widespread applicability in military,
health care, agriculture, environment monitoring applications. With the purpose of
achieving high quality and fault-tolerant capability, a sensor network can be composed
of hundreds or thousands of sensor nodes. Clustering techniques are particularly
important in the success of WSN implementations especially when sensor nodes are
moving at different speeds. Many existing clustering algorithms assume that sensor
nodes move at the same speed which is not true in many practical cases. We introduce
a velocity-based clustering algorithm and implement a relay placement technique in
order to maintain seamless network connectivity. This presentation shows that the
packet loss rates of the algorithm is much lower than the LEACH and HEED
protocols.
